If it's not interfering with their work, then they shouldn't get fired. But, just because you are a "social drinker" doesn't mean that it can't interfer with your work. Hangovers, waking up late, etc. If a situation like that came up, then I would agree that they should be fired.

A rapist or murderer is a convicted felon and will never get to be a teacher, that is different from a porn star who's not doing anything wrong under the law and is merely living a immortal (in the opinions of others) lifestyle and shouldn't be canned because of it. She's not advertising her other profession to her pupils nor is she engaging in any illicit activities with them so I would have no problem with her teaching to my kids either.

Unfortunately, as a teacher, she often signs a contract that forbids her from engaging in such other activities and professions. So it's more than just "opinions" or "viewpoints."

It's one thing for a teacher to be a model or even a pornstar before becoming or after being a teacher. There was a teacher chastized for such for modeling in skimpy suits while in college and her school district repeatedly stated she did nothing wrong and did not violate anything in her contract (and would not be reprimanded in the least bit).

But it's a completely other thing to do such while employed as a teacher, per her contract.
