I personally never understood why people always say this whenever a famous person makes a political remark. In particular when they make one that some people don't agree with. I don't condone her gloating statement and I do find that a lot of famous people have some really dumb political ideas, but as American citizens entertainers, celebrities, and sports figures are entitled to subscribe to any political view they wish. Just because their job puts them in the spotlight doesn't mean that they should abstain from any political activity. I sure as hell wouldn't want anyone telling me that I shouldn't make political statements because I am a bus driver, chef, or construction worker.

I'm more in tune with what Bearded Menace said above. I'm not a politician any more or any less than Beyonce or Kid Rock. And yet I have and state my views. It's just that no one really cares what I think. And even if I had a Tweeter or FaceSpace account, I doubt anyone would follow my diatribes.
The fault (IMO) lays with the people who place celebrities on too high a pedestal. Me, I have worshiped Keith Richards since I was about 14. But I never got friendly with the needle & the spoon just because Keith did it. His politics are probably quite different from mine. And though I might be curious to know how he feels about this or that, I'll be damned if I'd burn my copy of Beggars Banquet if he happened to say something political that I didn't agree with. If I did that, I would be the dumbass in that case.
