Tag users in threads with notifications?

I would love to have a function that tells me when someone quotes me or to make it possible to publicly address a certain user in a thread conversation.
As I am subscribing for probably thousands of threads I can't keep up checking all answers and replys, but if someone tagged me in an ongoing conversation and there could be another note for that would be awesome. You get my point?
