The first Death Star was in the story during EpII as well....
The Death Star being started with Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, and GM Tarkin looking on, is a scene I've been waiting on for a LONG time!

Wonder what we will see of Tarkin before that scene...
I doubt anything, since he isn't really relevant to the exact story of ROTS. His appearance just solidifies the Empire's existence and is another tie between III & IV.

Still hoping on Solo and Fett myself hehe. I am trying to think of things that could crop up that Lucas has as yet made no mention of...
Solo was an idea that was scrapped awhile ago. And I for one am so happy and relieved the idea went the way of the Do-Do. IMO, it would have been REALLY bad, corny, messed the rhythm of the film up, and made it look like GL was trying too hard to mesh the story together. Fett's out too-but EU will cover it pretty well. Both cuts have been confirmed by LFL. And earlier, we were wondering about the Yoda mud scene and it has also been cut.

Wont be much left at this rate! I ahte when something cool story related gets cut; a bit where the actors have a chance to shine; and it gets replaced by a stupid bit of nonsense, like that arena execution attempt in EpII, or the over long pod race in EpI.
One of the best parts of ALL the films in my opinion was inside Shmi Skywalkers home in EpI, where they discussed Jedi, slaves and everything. Good lines, good acting, a touching scene. No special effects needed apart from damned Jar Jar lol.

I think it's editing for time at the moment. The target is 130-145 minutes. Of course, editing goes all the way until the 17th, even after special screenings, so we'll see.

I just remember reading the scripts for EpI and II and some GREAT stuff got cut... and I couldnt believe some of the dubious bits that got left! In a way, I almost wish I hadnt read or seen anything to do with EpIII, in case I get a bit disappointed at anything I notice missing.

Just watched EpI again... cant help but skip that damn podrace every time lol

I dont know... I think the TOTAL lack of ANY interesting dialogue just makes it a chore to watch after the first few (hundred lol) times!
Ahh. OK. It was modelled after one of the most famous races in film history (Ben-Hur chariot race), so there was not gonna be much dialogue.
OMG When will May 19th arrive i cant take this shit anymore......i am trying not to spoil too much as far as info on the film....but god the anticipation is making me nuts.....ok....deep breath....whew......ok im fine now, i put my oxygen mask back on....LOL....seriously....i cant wait til the 19th, but at the same time it will be depressing cause its gonna be the last film
