Summer movies

I was looking through a list of movies and the only films that spark my interest are Hangover 2 and Apollo 18, which I know nothing about but the synopsis sounds mildly interesting. Also looking forward to the next Harold and Kumar movie in November.

Tree of Life - is probably the only film I'm really looking forward to seeing this summer. Saying that, I'll probably end up seeing a lot of the shit mentioned above too...

Haven't seen anything yet. I'll wait for Hangover 2 and I really don't want to see another X-Men movie. And I hated all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. But Super 8 looks alright.

I'm annoyed not by the volume of sequels and remakes and reboots. I'm annoyed by just how fast they're making these sequels. Back in my day you had to wait years for the sequel. The Terminator was released in 1984 & T2 was released in 1991. That was enough time for people to catch the first film. And it was way better than the first. The wait for The Lost World: Jurassic Park was agonizing when I was a kid. It felt like a lifetime. In retrospect The Lost World was really disapointing and unexceptional but back then none of us predicted it would be so lame or that it could be released a year and a half after the first movie like today's sequels. Iron Man 2 was released almost two years after the first but it really only felt like one year had gone by in my opinion. And I don't know anyone who went apeshit for Iron Man 2. In fact I know more people who went apeshit for the first film but no the second. They rushed it out. I wish they would let the first film grow in people's minds and the culture before regurgitating another one. Hell, I could actually wait until 2013 for The Dark Knight Rises.

And sometimes just one movie should be enough. Does anyone really want a sequel to Blade Runner and Underworld and Ghost Rider?
