I personally don't visit SG. It's not my cup of tea, and it's a pay site to boot. I do wonder though, how much effect this is going to have on other websites, in the fear that they will be charged for a crime by the federal government? The whole 2257 compliance requirements have caused a fair amount of absolute bullshit on the Internet, so it should be a concern for anyone who simply likes looking at women without clothes on.
I have a fear that this slow progression towards "regulating" pornography's supposed limitless boundaries will effect even the mildest of adult entertainment. I personally don't believe for a minute this has anything to do with protecting ********, as 10+ year on the net has proven to me, I've never seen pedophillic material. I've never intentionally searched for it, obviously, but we all know how sharing programs (e.g., Kazza) dupe you into downloading something that isn't what it's titled to be.
As far as *******, shitting, and other "interesting" forms of fetishism are concerned, I fail to see how this is really a problem, let alone even porn, IMO.
The pics on SG, AKAIK, were nothing more than simulated bondage (BDSM). I can see a website owner having the worry of allowing models to pose nude or even act out sex scenes without any real age verification system in place. I don't know how SG runs this aspect of it, and to be honest I really don't give a ****. That is more an issue of **********, and that has been a law for a long time, so this new "crackdown" has me baffled and slightly irritated.
Without posting "I **** GWB" or "Fuck Bush", what concerns do you have about this announcement by the actual asshole who got this ball rolling, AG Gonzales, who's wobbly on immigration, *** rights, and abortion, but has a hard on for smut. Is it just a stunt to try to get a seat in the SCOTUS, or do you think they'll get our porn from our dead lubricated hands?
