Students of Virginity

Haha, well, I realize that I probably sucked in a lot of folks just with that title, but remember that we're here in the "talk" section! So, zip up! :1orglaugh

Anyhoo, this is a pretty interesting article in the NYTimes that seems to pose the "sexual health" and "virginity pledgers" as two extremes in the sexuality continuum. It's a bit long, but pretty interesting.

I esp. found it interesting that there are now some campus virginity groups that make their arguments from a secular, rational perspective, rather than the tired, old religious perspectives.

Frankly, I find both extremes a bit annoying. Hook-up culture can get to be sort of a nihilistic, pointless, soulless thing but yet some of the justifications for the WAIT! viewpoint (esp. if one believes in long-term/lifetime monogamy but isn't necessarily a fan of marriage) also seem a bit silly (all the talk of being "manly" and such - yaaaaaawn!). For those who at least skim this article, what do you think about it????
