STS-116 launched successfully

I was at a Christmas party last night. Does it make me a total geek if I stepped outside at 20:47 to watch the first night launch of the space shuttle in a long time. Since I live in Tampa, all I could see was a bright orange streak slowly climbing in the east. The after 2 minutes, the SRBs separated and the sky went dark again.

I'm an engineer myself, but spaceflight still amazes the **** out of me!
