Storing picture collections - Best strategies

What is the best strategy to store large picture collections on disk?
Do you use some tagging tools? Do you store pictures starting from the publisher? Or the collection name? The actors?
How do you query your collection?

Now seriuosly. I use a crypted disk actually. What I'm looking for is a tool the quickly find by:
- actor name
- genre
- colour
- publisher
- series/collections
- tags
- rating

Why collect that much porn it requires cataloging?

In my youth I did that, then realise how pathetic I'd become and that I never looked at half of it.

Stick it in the recycle bin and empty, you'd be surprised how little you care.

Personal photos yes, but that's all. Those generally are based on "who" and "where" they were taken.

Who the hell organises porn?

personally, i only have a scene or two at the most saved at any given moment. currently, i have one zipped archive of pictures (a single gallery) from a paysite.

The only images i organise are my own photos that i use for design work. Most of the photos from the porn paysites i´ve been a member of are burned on dvd´s and never looked at again.

Buy an extrenal hard drive.
Mine is one Terabyte
