Remember though that most of the time the more healthy food actually cost more than the cheap processed junk. I think that’s part of the reason the poor are so unhealthy to begin with.

I agree. The cheaper feeds are almost always the more unhealthy choices. Ramen noodles, canned foods, etc. I'm not saying that we should be giving these people even more financial assistance than what they're already getting, but I do agree that their health problems have a lot to do with their diet.

I'm for giving welfare recipients **** tests. Yes, the tests are costly, but, in the long run, they would keep millions of tax dollars from going into **** dealers' pockets. So long as there are no real "hoops" that people have to jump through to get money from the government, people will ***** any and all assistance that they receive.

In my industry it's very common for people to get unemployment. Stagehands are technically considered seasonal workers, even though we work year-round, and, in many cases, work more than full-time. Since we're seasonal, we qualify for unemployment. At times that's a great thing. During the first 8 weeks of the year there was hardly any work, and most of the people that I work with received unemployment just to be able to pay their rent and put food on the table. However, there are many who receive unemployment just as a means of having money without working. Some of my coworkers get annoyed when they get called to work because "it fucks with my unemployment." The way they see it is that if they are gonna make about the same from work as from unemployment it's not worth their time. Instead of working, they go out and buy cigarettes, ****, and pot. I don't want my tax dollars to keep supporting these social parasites. Another shithead that I work with claims that he's been on unemployment for 10 weeks, 4 of which he spent on vacation in Hawaii, and, with the remaining money that he had, he went and got a tattoo. I'm sorry, but I don't think that we should be footing the bill for people to do **** like that.

I'm not saying that all the people who receive financial assistance from the government are social parasites; some are in genuine need, but there should be something that draws the line between someone who is actually in need, and someone who is just receiving money to pay for their addictions.

Funny how many are outraged over welfare recipients (Who get less than 1 or 2 percent of the the entire US budget):dunno: who may get a extra pack of smokes, ****,etc... while ***** cartels are making billions ( even have their own miltary wings & intelligence operatives:eek: ) & are loving this "War on
*****".

People will get their ***** with or without welfare if they want them desperate enough(Rob,steal, ****,etc... & we will end up paying for them anyhow if/when they end up in jail & crime increases).

Giving the government another way to intrude into the lives of anyone is wrong. They have and always look for another way to step all over our rights. So, this is a bad idea.

Whoever thought it up needs to step down and start their new career as a janitor.

i love how willing the government is to waste money to save money. just awesome. perhaps the real problem is that we're willing to let corporations ship all our jobs overseas so their profits may increase exponentially due to the lack of need to properly pay citizens in other countries, properly treat the environment, provide benefits, or properly treat the citizens of those countries? welcome to the net result: we don't have enough jobs for our citizens. i wonder why our unemployed citizens would want to use *****...
