Star Wars VS. Star Trek

I have missed the boat on Babylon 5 and Firefly. I'd like to watch those shows in DVD sometime...the "intelligent" Sci Fan fans that I know in real life seem to speak highly of both of those shows..

Both really awesome shows that I love also. Firefly was never given the chance, having been cancelled after only 13 episodes, but what a great series!

no, trek wins hands down with hotter chicks.

Sexy aliens

Trek : Orion slave girls (those green ladies)
Wars : Twi'Lek

I think it kind of depends on what you prefer. War and violence (Star Wars) or the different approach, as it has been often proven in Star Trek that violence is not the best solution for things.

I've never, ever, watched a Star Trek movie in my entire life. Star Wars, on the other hand, are movies that are timeless, and I have seen them all, particularly the newer ones, pleanty of times. :glugglug:

SW!
Me too, I just prefer the old ones. They're so good.

(you should add a poll to this thread)

Star Wars. I remember lining up with my dad to see the first movie.

The older Star Wars Movies are Classics, but the new ones are crap.

I like the Star Trek TV Shows (except "Enterprise" and "Voyager"), but the Movies aren't nearly as good.

Star Wars. I remember lining up with my dad to see the first movie.

I was trying to explain to my kids just how big, how absolutely *everywhere* the first movie was that summer. You couldn't escape it, it was so popular.

I mean hell, it was out in theaters for... I think a year. And then they kept re-releasing it after that!

I'd have to say both. I grew up watching Next Generation. I love how Trek tests the ideals of its characters. That said, I really love the scope of Star Wars, and the diversity of life present in that galaxy.

I'd have to say star trek, which had enough material to support uh....five? (TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise, did i miss any?) series. pretty brilliant writing to keep it going that long.

i love star wars too, but they're just good to see once a year or less - there is enough trek material to keep watching it almost every day for ages.

Star Wars hands down. It is the greatest science fiction saga. Not ony are the movies good, but all the expanded universe information is endless. More new and exciting things are popping up in the Star Wars universe practically everyday. I have spent basically most of my life learning everything there is to know about Star Wars movies, comics, action figures, video games, books and everything else. Star Wars rules!!

Personally, Star Trek is my favourite time, but I recognize Star Wars as the better and more culturally significant one.

Also the only good ones are:

Star Trek:
TOS
Next Generation

Star Wars:
Original Trilogy
