Yeah , this thread reminds me of the time I ate turtle soup with Archie Bunker.
" This sure is good turtle soup isn't it Archie"
" Stifle Meathead"

Not very funny was it?

Family guy is ok for a few chuckles but south park is much better.

And its still good.

Jokes in South Park are crap nowadays, the plots based on the boys lives were best but now the producers seem to just want to capitalise on any recent celebrity mishap and base the episode on that, the jokes are designed to just offend/push the boundry rather than be actually funny. e.g. picture of mohammed episode or the britney spears episode where she had half a face or even when steve irwin died, they just weren't funny

Yup.
I miss the days when South Park wasn't talking about current events and when it wasn't all computer animated like it is now.

i think we all agree they suck now, right? so are we all debating on which one was better in it's prime or what?

I don't think south park sucks now, it is slipping though.
last year for example was hit or miss, a few gems but most of the episodes werent as good as previous seasons.

Famly Guy

dunno, its a toss up between hearing the same knock knock joke over and over (sp) or hearing it told to you slowly for 2 minutes (fg). that's almost all it is now. the shake weight episode? stupid. not because it wasn't clever, but it was less and less clever after the first seventeen times they told the joke.

and the worst part about south park is they had an episode making fun of george lucas and speilburg for updating all their shit with new effects, and then mockingly said they were going to do the same with their first episode. and their 100th episode or whatever that 2 parter with the giant barbara streisand they negated their own point!

both episodes are like listening to spoiled brats piss and moan with a few jokes thrown in, but i think family guy has done a slightly better job at least making the episode environment somewhat enjoyable (the only major exception is the missing cleveland and the dumb fucking brian/quagmire fued).

for all people everywhere, i have a proposition. a tv show can only be allowed to have 10 seasons. then they have to move on to other things. instead of wearing out characters and ruining a good thing, they take all the jokes and apply them to better uses.

try it. take any show you enjoy and try to find any awesome episodes that couldn't have been made into a different show after the 10th season. seinfeld, the simpsons, south park, king of queens, that 70s show, etc. they all should or did end at 10 seasons. just food for thought

South park isn''t consistent enough. They bring out absolute unfunny garbage like Towelie or the superheroe episodes from time to time.

Family Guy gives me laughs every single episode, and I only watch these shows to be amused so FG gets my vote.

I prefer South Park. I never really got into Family Guy because the only draw for me was Stewie and his personality (I find him similar to Brain from Pinky and the Brain; which i loved).

I agree South Park is quite played out now, and I haven't kept up with either show for about 5 years now, but I still enjoy the more foul-mouthed nature of South Park if I were to sit down and watch a current episode.

and like I said I do think sp is slipping, only a few good episodes in the last season and so far s-15 aint looking too good.

For the EMPEROR!!
Tough call because I like both. But "Family Guy" because Lois is fucking hot.

I watched the South Park episode that made fun of Facebook for the first time last night, it was brilliant and a return to form for South Park. That guy spitting in Stan's face for not accepting his friendship request (eventhough he had no idea who he was) was priceless :1orglaugh

It is too close to call for me. Family Guy characters are better defined and the scripts are well written for them. South Park stories are much better though.
