So I've gotta know. What's your favorite blue collar tv show these days?

Bear kicks ass too ! Whatdda think .....

I like Swamp People & American Pickers

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
Sons of Guns is alright, but I can't stand his ********...she annoys me. He, however, knows his craft well, and is enjoyable to watch work.

Still like Myth Busters, and Dirty Jobs....I like Deadliest Catch too, but I don't believe this season will have Sig or the Hilstrands...I read about a lawsuit, so if they leave, I most likely won't watch.

The water-jacketed 16's was absolutely retarded. I mean when was the last time you saw River Squads sticking on double "water-jacketed" M-16's instead of a 249 Para Saw or M-60v4. I mean come on...
It annoys me how he takes credit for ideas that have been around forever.

I like Mythbusters though. Those guys are classics.

Myth Busters. I loved the episode where they tried to fly off the roof of a building, while holding a sheet of plywood. lol
Hoarders. Just when I think I've seen the absolute worst living conditions a human being would allow themselves to live in, along comes a new episode that shows a worst one! The show helped me understand that my grandmother wasn't the only one to collect junk. It is a very common problem.
Deadliest Catch. Rest in peace, Phil Harris.

Best Myth Busters Ep? The Kari Byron butt scan....

God I can't stand her. Southern girl trying to act like a badass by being rude and head-snappy. That's the worst.

The show's fun to watch, but it's scripted and retarded. Red Jacket was completely unknown until the show aired. And the producers were going all around the country trying to find a known Classs III custom shop to do the show, but any self-respecting outfit(Tromix) ******. Now we have a bunch of dudes retro-fitting Thompsons for a SWAT Team? There are tons of .45 SMGs out there that are lighter, easier to handle and more convenient. I really hope that tax dollars aren't being ****** because some dickhead sheriff wants to be a character.

There's too many "reality" shows now and they all ape each other in no time flat. There's multiple logger, survivalist, off-the-grid, pawn shop, auction, pickers and fisherman shows and they're all fake and comically edited. Hell, there's now two separate taxidermy shows and a show about dudes who hunt feral hogs. It's a joke.

I gotta say though, that chick lumberjack from Ax Men was kind of cute. I don't watch regularly, but it sucked to see her go.

Sir, you're watching the program with the wrong frame of mind, lighten up a bit . . . have libations, :****: something! :dunno: :glugglug:

At ease, it wouldn't be entertainment if it wasn't scripted and retarded.
What serious custom shop would want their rep tainted by a bunch of goof balls walking around with cams on their shoulders?
Ans.: n/a

Red Jacket was completely unknown until the show aired.
In other words, the whole thing is fake from top to bottom, yes?
BTW, I've only caught about 15 mins total of one single program, fwiw.

Aside: ''Modern Marvels''

No, Will Hayden of Red Jacket is/was a real Class III dealer with a shop, but he was just some local guy that sold and service short barreled Saigas, SBRs and pre-'86 FA guns. About a year ago, the show's producers were hitting every dealer/custom shop with a name (Tony Rumore of Tromix, Tom Bower of Bowers Group LLC, etc.) They all declined because it would make them look like fools as well as possibly make the industry look bad.

(The show doesn't do the best job explaining NFA laws; leaving many to think that you can just walk into a *** shop and buy a Full Auto machine ***. A very bad thing when that idea can scare some people into think there needs to me stricter *** laws because of it.)

I dunno, the "entertainment" aspect is the actually occupation for me. I'd love to see a real custom shop in action. The manufactured drama in this shows is obvious and obnoxious and almost feels as an insult to my intelligence. I don't need to see some fat Chumlee (Pawn Stars) pretending to be a clueless oaf; I'm plenty entertained by learning the history of some cool historical treasure that somebody came in to pawn. I guess you can argue that the drama is what people want, but I really don't think that's the case. I think that's just what producers think. Pimp My Ride was a good example; people tuned in to see some transformation, not a bogus fight.

Anyway, Stephanie Hayden's cute I guess. Cute for somebody in a "reality" show. But that only goes so far. I have little tolerance for people who have to constantly let you know how tough or feisty they are. But maybe that's just the producers telling her to say that ****.

And yes, Modern Marvels is great. I know way too much about the uses of corn, the history of canning and the weakness of ceramic knives.

It's been that bad lately, huh? :( bummer.
In its earlier (and better) days they would move lighthouses in an upright position a quarter of a mile inland, feature the tugging of this ***** ("Skyscraper at Sea" they called it) out into the temperamental North Sea from of the shores of Norway proper, show the inner workings of Caterpillar quarry trucks and a host of other cool guy things.

Tony Rumore, huh? I have some load data around here with his name on it.
A reputable good name in the industry is he?

Oh no, that wasn't a knock. There was a Modern Marvels episode that covered blade tech from flint to bronze, iron, steel to even ceramic blades. I still love the show even though it's mostly useful information that can never be applied to anything worthwhile. Knowing that the canning process was born from Napoleon's desire to feed troops throughout the attempted conquest of Europe is fascinating, but it won't help me get a raise. :D

Oh man, he's a guru. If I had the cash, I'd buy one of his Saigas in a second. There was a time when you could get a stock Saiga and have him modify it all for about a grand. I regret the fuck out of not jumping on that.

He's configured a Kalashnikov in just about any caliber you could imagine (short of 338 Lapua and 50BMG, of course.) He posts on the subguns boards, usually just giving advice or showing off his latest crazy project. Most of his projects aren't for sale; he just likes the challenge and defying convention. The man has made AKs and Sig556s in .458 SOCOM and they run flawlessly.

I like just about anything on history channel and discovery channel. Also love man vs food....think those are blue collar no?

The Man vs Food guy will no longer compete. The previous seasons of competitive eating fucked his health, so now he'll host a group contest.

I never watched that ****, but I find that story amusing.

Yeah, I really like that show, he was funny. It's a bummer he won't do that now. The Carnivore Chronicles are just kinda re-hashed and dumb.

Other than those three, I never watch network television, except for an occassional Denver Broncos or St. Louis Cardinals game. And if I want to watch a movie, I'll watch it on my laptop.
