I realize that it can be quite stupid at times, and that they do things that should NEVER be done in actual survival situations, but there is some good stuff to be learned from the show and the interaction between Dave and Cody is always interesting. I love how they go to remote locations all over the world and how they do a great job of injecting humor into an otherwise serious show. I'm surprised the shock value stunt where Dave cut his arm open and carterized the wound with gunpowder didn't get more mainstream attention. It looked like something that would have generated a great deal of controversy, to have someone cut like that on TV.I was visiting a friend in Vegas back in October. She took me down to the Strip, as I had never been to Vegas before. Pawn Stars is in th old section of the strip. Shitty area, really. Anyway, we parked and walked in. The place is a dump. Carpet is grotesquely dirty, and the store itself is very small. Near the back they offer all kinds of crap that is related to the show - coffee mugs, t-shirts, posters, you name it.
It was around 11:00 PM when we went in and there were probably twenty five people inside not including the staff. None of which were the "stars". They are only there when shooting episodes.
