Sometimes the book is not always better

It has always been the same when movies come out which are based on books and 9 times out of 10 the book is better, now don't get me wrong i love the movies always have always will. I willo give a couple of examples,Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code is without a doubt 1 of the best books of our time (and in my opinion Dan Brown is 1 of the best writers of all time) but there was a lot of talk before the film was released (especially here in the UK) that the film was going to be a load of rubbish, and of course it wasn't. But to get to my point (i'm sorry i go on a bit lol) Die Hard was in my opinion was the best film of the eighties but the book in which it was based (retitled Die Hard but originally called Nothing lasts Forever) was 1 of the worst books i have ever read. Has anyone else seen a film and read the book and thought the film was better
