First, something that I've seen over the years. Your stage name. If you've used Polly Linko on ANYTHING that is attached to your real information, someone is going to find it. So make 5000000% sure that you keep everything separate. Use a new email for all of your sex work and never put anything that can connect you to your real life (outside of the actual legal paperwork you'll have to sign and provide ID for in order to use adult platforms or shoot scenes...).
Speaking of 2257 information. If ANY adult company fails to ask you for the proper 2257 info and sign model release documents do NOTHING for them. I don't care if they offer you 1 million dollars. Reputable companies ask for this information and keep it on file to be legal. While 2257 is a US law, if a foreign company has servers in the US they will comply. By all means ask how they store this info to make sure it stays secure.
If you're going to do custom videos, a 1 on 1 call on skype, or anything where you'll be paid off of a platform, make sure you ask for a deposit. There are time wasters and those that think that this should be free or cheap. Your time is valuable so make sure you cover yourself. If someone starts telling you that you're a horrible person for asking for a deposit to block the time or whatnot, don't listen to them. And speaking of getting paid, be aware that 90% of the payment platforms you can use as yourself in real life can't be used for sex work.
Paypal can only be used when you use a payment processor called Epoch. Most of the other money transfer sites will nuke you the second they figure out it's sex work. Go and open a completely separate bank account, at a totally different bank than your real life bank, and when they ask what you do you're a free lancer that creates content for youtube or an internet marketer. You're not an onlyfan girl, cam girl, etc, etc. It doesn't matter if you're in front of the camera or if you own the website with adult stuff on it... financial institutions hate us and will shut us down. Doubly and triply so the second you do ANYTHING with an american company or with USD.
So that leads to platforms like Onlyfans, Clips4Sale, Manyvids, Model Centro, etc. The bitching I always see from models is they take a huge percentage. Yes. However this means you're not having to program your own site or hire a developer. You're not having to do the paperwork and negotiation of a payment processing platform, doing compliance, making sure your chargebacks stay under 1%, paying the yearly visa/mastercard fees, nor are paying the processing fees. These platforms do enough volume to get a good percentage. You're going to pay 10-15% as a model nobody knows from Eve. These platforms also (usually) have traffic that can be sent through so people can discover you so you may have to do less traffic generation on your own. Some of them do affiliate management for you (like model centro). So yes, getting X% taken out of your pay sucks but trust me, to start up you're not going to save the 10-30% doing it on your own.
Oh, one last thing. If you want to post your stuff on here, become an Official Checked Star Model or OCSM. This means you can advertise your OnlyFans and other stuff, post pictures, and get a little more leeway than the rest. Just convo myself or
