It's not about why - I came back two days ago, and I am the guy who has to look after the house. Including if the oiltank still contains enough to keep the burner running.

This night, I woke up and realized: It is fucking cold.

Went down and checked the tank:Zero oil.

Sent a SMS to our landlady, and I hope she will order oil right away. Of course, **** lik ethis always happens on weekends. I remember when the whole street had an electricity shortage. Sunday, too. Is this a curse???

I keep my gas oven running, so my appartment is slightly warm. This is one occasion where having a one-room flat is rewarding LOL

How about buying a space heater? You can get one of those parabolic heaters at Costco for about $60 bucks in the US. I would imagine you can also find them in Deutschland.

It's not a curse, it's Murphy's Law : If anything can go wrong, it will, on the worst moment, with the worst possible consequences...

I have had a flat with very poor heating years ago.

Do you know how much energy a heater eats uP?

I learned the hard way... 400 Euros in one winter, extra payment.

Four weeks?! That's a long time! Dude, I hope you're on the mend.

Does the oil supply company where you live not do automatic checks and refills? Sometimes you can request that. They just drop by once a month or so, do a check and refill it if it's down to a certain level. That's what I have set up for my ****** because she sometimes forgets to check her tank and I'm often traveling.

But I hope things work out and you're doing better now.

I boiled large pots of hot water on the stove to keep the house warm during Hurricane Sandy and the power outage.

Got up to 75 degrees in the house @ times but got condensation everywhere....couldn't see out the fucking windows.

Oh, yeah, what were you in the hospital for?

Glad you're doing better. I hope you have someone to take care of you.

Damn hun....I hope you're ok.....four weeks is a long time to be in hospital for. :(

Supa has been in the hospital suffering from masterbation overload. He will tell you it's not. And he will try and jazz it up to look like something tough. But it's masterbation (sore cock and ball syndrome). Plain and simple.

I'm a fan of sealed oil space heaters. You can keep them on when you leave the house and come back to reasonable warmth.

I just moved into one of my other houses because I was sick of freezing my ass off in the winter. I've used electric heaters for the last seven years but this other house is piped for natural gas. Huge difference. The gas heat is hotter and 80% less expensive.

So, what were you in the hospital for? Super AIDS?
