Signs you're getting old(er)

I don't think music made today suck,I KNOW it sucks. It also sucks when old Nirvana,Pearl Jam,and RHCP are played on the "Classic Rock" station.

It's not like people with my opinion are just nostalgic for what they listened too when they were kids either. I like a lot of music from before I was even born along with what was around when I was young. From the 50s until the turn of the millennium there was countless good music, although it might have been trailing off a little in the 90s. Then after that it seems like most things just stink. I will occasionally find good music made now, but it's rarely something that hits the big time, and I have to find it on rock stations that play some of the more obscure stuff. Most music pushed today has gone way too far in the style over substance in how it's created. Sure in the past there were gimmicks, blatant sexualization of women, flashy crapy videos, drugs, and singers that were out of control and/or jerks in their personal lives, but at least it was actually backup up by music that sounded good and took talent to create, and the music was the primary focus of the work. I can't believe how many singers and music groups are just talentless hacks now.

It makes me feel sorry for young people growing up today.

Thing I've found is that the older I get, the deeper into the past I find music I love. For most of my life I was all about 80s, but increasingly I find classic rock from the 70s that I think is brilliant.

Give it another ten years and maybe I'll finally come around to The Beatles?.... nah. The REAL "fab four" for me will forever be Mercury, May, Taylor, Deacon.

Sessions.

Hey, if you don't find Miley Cyrus's Wrecking Ball to be contemporary genius, you must be getting fucking old grandpa. ;)

God, I hope they're not counter-surveiling me. I don't want anyone getting pictures of me putting Just For Men on my ball hair.

If I think my neighbors are snooping I'll open up the windows and allow them to see me shaving my balls. I show myself off at the worst angles possible making sure they see the shit-eating grin on my starfish.

I look at 18-20 year old girls in the pub and am not remotely sexually interested in them because they look like they should still be in school.

I'm 24 and I already feel like that. I don't mess around 18-20 year olds anymore, I need a girl who is mature and has her shit together now

I'm 46 and there is this really pretty and sweet Latin girl that works in my bank. If she's 21 she's barely 21. I find her beautiful but also find myself giving her protective-type fatherly advice. I want the best for that girl but see her as a kid.

It's not even about maturity, experience, attitude, personality or anything like that. I literally just find them attractive even when they are objectively pretty with great bodies, because it feels like looking at ten year olds that have magically grown tits. I hate it. The youngest girl in my life that I can still consider diddling is 23.

Lord Karnage isn't slowing on the video games.

I still like and play video games, just not the ones where I get pwned by some shit-talking 12-year-old due to my slowing refl ... err ... server lag (e.g., Call of Shitty).

As far as music, I actually like today's music more than the stuff I grew up with, at least the music that I listen to now (electronica, hip hop, dub etc.)

Most music is crap and only the good stuff will survive a decade or two. That's why oldies seem so much better than all the modern crap.

Just wait 20 years or so, and today's music will start to sound decent. :D

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
1. I yell at kids to slow down when they're driving through the neighborhood.
2. I listen to my music at a reasonable volume.
3. All of my dress and casual clothes are from Banana Republic or J. Crew.
4. I drive the speed limit because I like having really low car insurance premiums.
5. Netflix or a good book beats the hell out of a night drinking beer and partying.
6. My bed has an obscene number of pillows (8) on it.

Signs I'm getting older include old injuries that have suddenly started aching again. The past couple of days I've had a catch in my shoulder that I haven't had in over twenty years from a sparring injury in Taekwondo. Also, I don't have the passion for anything that I once did, not to say that I'm uninterested, just not as interested. I'm a lot slower to react to provocation now than I was when I was younger. I suppose it all balances out, but I really don't like getting old.

Hair in the drain.

Pain in your hip from driving too much.

Going to a Proctologist.

High Cholesterol.

Ear Hair.

And, perhaps the worst...

Mapping out a weeks' worth of television shows to watch.....a week ahead of time.

You should watch Classic Game Room.

Thinking about mail order brides hoping one day to meet that special woman from a land far, far away that finally makes you a sammich.
