The Persian empire covered an area bigger than present day Iran. If they couldn't get past saying "Iranian" they could just say Middle Eastern, especially since most of the people doing it probably couldn't differentiate where one comes from in the Middle East by their appearance anyhow.
On another tangent I read a scientific article once (or maybe it was a video I can't remember which anymore) that was studying peoples appearances and it came to the conclusion that people of mixed heritages and wider more various genetic backgrounds tend to have a better chance of being attractive than somebody that has a narrower genetic background. Seeing Briana list what her background is makes me wonder think about that now.

No, because Iraq is Middle Eastern, but is NOT Persian! It's absolutely ok to say someone looks Persian. It's a whole area. It's like saying someone looks Asian, black or white. In Iran they still speak Persian!
