Personally, I don't think it's the girls or the industry that's out of touch with reality. It's society that's out of touch with reality.
There's already a lot of unreasonable pressure on normal women to look a certain way because of society's definition of beautiful...I can't even begin to imagine what that pressure is like for those who's livelyhood depends on their looks.
So yea, I think it's easy to blame the women but until society's definition of beautiful and desirable goes back to natural...you'll have to put up with this type of thing.
I would understand that reasoning more if it wasn't for all the people that don't seem to follow it, or at least don't seem to care one way or another. When you see all the men, like here for example, on a porn board no less where logically it would seem we would be more sympathetic to the plastic look, that don't hold to the plastic unnatural ideal of beauty, it's hard to reconcile that with thinking most of society is that way. I can see some small segment of it thinking so or people in the media and entertainment thinking that, but then again that's more a subculture trying to tell people how to be or trying to tell people what everybody thinks instead of the reality of the situation. It has more to do with somebody letting a relatively small number of people color their viewpoints in a false fashion.
I also think as far as the adult industry goes there is a false, or at the very least highly exaggerated, notion that some of the things that women do to their body is going to highly improve the success of their careers and their popularity when in reality it doesn't help as much as they think it does and more often than not any gains that are made are short lived. That's made even worse by the fact that some of the procedures they have done are long term or even permanent and when they can be changed aren't easily reversed.
