Seraphim,I have a question about sized vehicles. What exactly happens to them, do they sit in an impound lot for awhile or do get they auctioned off right away?

They have to kept the vehicle in impound until the agency is awarded ownership by the Superior Court.

It can be done even if the offender still owes money on the vehicle,

as long as the agency can sell it for more than what the offender owes it's deemed cost effective.

The whole process is civil and usually takes less than 60 days if not contested in court.

The vehicle is either added to the agencies fleet or sold at auction.

Well guys,

Thank you for the kind thoughts.

I made it back home safely and we had a very productive night.

1 car chase, 3 foot chases (none of which got away)

17 arrests and about 1 1/2 pounds of marijuana was taken off the street.

A total of 4,165.00 in cash and 3 vehicles seized.

Pretty good work for a 16 hr work day :thumbsup:

I've been up a while and I gonna go sack out.

As soon as I wake up I'll anounce this weeks winner!

I'm wondering about the seized weed. What happens to that? I figured you guy's just burned it in a big pile. So what really happens to it?

We seize about 20-30 lbs. a year.

It is usually kept until the end of trial (approx. 6mos.).

The THC content of marijuana doesn't last long and become "stale".

The real evidence is the lab results showing that there was THC in the sample tested.

After that it's basically hemp and burned (no we don't stand around the fire and inhale)
