Family Research Council President Tony Perkins said the effort to remove sodomy from military law stems from liberal Senate Democrats’ and President Obama’s support for removing the military’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy.

“It’s all about using the military to advance this administration’s radical social agenda,” Perkins told CNSNews.com. “Not only did they overturn Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, but they had another problem, and that is, under military law sodomy is illegal, just as adultery is illegal, so they had to remove that prohibition against sodomy.”

Perkins said removing the bestiality provision may have been intentional — or just “collateral damage.”

Liberals’ ability to browbeat the morally and/or mentally weak into accepting homosexuality depravity as normal is a loose string. Pull it hard enough, and soon all sorts of things come unraveled.

The article you stole your text from does an exquisite job of misrepresenting. The headline makes it sound as though the Senate's goal was to legalize bestiality. It wasn't. It was, as was BARELY alluded to, “collateral damage.” That's a MAJOR point.

The issue is that the original, very out-dated language that they are repealing put homosexuality and bestiality in precisely the same category. The language being repealed is this:

It states: "(a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration, however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense. (b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

Now, you can bet that will be rewritten pronto. Anyone who dwells on this, and who believes that the Senate was trying to promote bestiality is, in my opinion, extremely stupid.

I am entirely capable of having a civil debate or conversation. Some of my closest friends have radically different views on things like homosexuality, gun control, and politics. It makes for good conversations. However, let's just look at the titles of just a few of your recent threads:

But you're absolutely right. Let's talk about anything here. Here are a couple of points about that:

1. if you're not prepared to have solid arguments, make valid points, use credible sources, then you better be ready to get the shit kicked out of you in a debate. When people provide real proof, or even well argued perspectives, I find it great, and enjoy the debate. You do none of these things.

There are only 100 United States Senators of which 53 caucus with the Democratic delegation and 47 that caucus with the Republican delegation. Assuming that all fifty three Democrats voted "yay" that leaves 40 Republicans that supported this bill. Now, how exactly is this a liberal issue?

Please explain to me the "unconstitutionality" of the Bill/Law that this thread is about. "Unconstitutional" means against the laws of our country. "Unconstitutional" means that the Supreme Court is going to eventually strike this down. Do you predict that happening?

DADT was an abomination. Its demise was long overdue. Discrimination in our country has to be eliminated and DADT was nothing less than government-assisted discrimination. You don't need separate water fountains and "Whites Only" sign to be a bigot. The direction that this country has taken in the last 30 years is to slowly realize that fact and to take appropriate action. Of all the things that the US government insists on fucking up, you're picking the one thing that is actually encouraging.

I think that overturning DADT is one of the best things that has happened in the states in a long time. And I get sensationalism in the press and all but come on. The title of this thread and the way the information was given out will COMPLETELY confuse and enrage all of those that are unfamiliar with the original bestiality/sodomy correlation. Starting a balanced debate is one thing, but this information is presented in such a way that the hope for ensuing anger and dissent at the administration is blatantly obvious.
