Actually, nothing matters, it is just an example script, if you do it completly different, just use your scripts. Or join the scenes with mkvtoolnix first, instead of using the script to join. The only important thing are the trims used on the same source.

It is without audio, but it isn't the original sound anyway. These .avs files can be played by many players like MPC-HC or Zoom Player like a normal video file without the need for recompression! Just the initial loading time takes much longer. Don't use directshowsource, it is not accurate enough. Use LWLibavVideoSource or whatever else is true frame accurate.

For example for my theory:
