a little known fact about her band is that she kept her name off of it in the beginning. she wanted to see how it would go without the sasha grey name on it for the obvious reasons. and they did pretty good on its own.
so she's come out and put her name on it now. and, naturally, she's getting even more support. bad thing? of course not.
the fact that sasha likes a lot of the same music i do, namely kmfdm where she gets her name from, i assumed her darker tastes would reflect in her music. something i might like. and it does and is.
when im sitting around listneing to kmfdm, nin, ministry, and the cure on a regular basis, her project blends in with my tastes. sure, there's tons of criticism, but its not her fault people can't get over that she was in porn.
either get over it or not. i dont give a fuck. but, the ability to look at her as a person rather than JUST a pornstar would be a smart thing to do. a lot of people had some crazy jobs before music, acting, etc. but she seems to be getting a lot of flack for hers. performers are people too.
i dont understand why people cant look past her past and embrace her as an individual. personally, i commend her for trying her hand at music. god knows i've tried it myself. unfortunately, i dont have the resources to sit and produce music. id love to, but i cant.
i recently got the falcon and the pod album and i like it. i may have tried it because im an obviously big sasha fan, but i like it because its pretty cool shit.
dark, different, that's what i like.
too bad you can only download the damn thing in mp3 format only. i like cds. the vinyl would be nice to find though..
