I'd argue that McCain chose Palin for the most part to trigger this kind of attention because it steals thunder from Obama. There are far more qualified female Republicans he could have chosen. Kay Bailey Hutchison from Texas is one. She's been in the Senate since the early '90's. Kay could reach for the best all day long and there would be no talk of sex tapes on the net for her.

I agree with Rockywoodman and would like to add that not ALL women would trigger this kind of behavior. A great example is Hillary where only very few and marginal dudes have been interested in anything related to sex and her. Sarah triggers this kind of behavior because she's a MILF. Total MILF. You must get the same talking points memo from the GOP as Fox News and every other conservative new outlet. It's amazing how so many people can say exactly the same thing while using all the same buzz words. MAVERICK was a character on Magnum P.I., McCain is a POLITICIAN.

As for attacks on Palin, the Right again is twisting reality to meet their needs. Obama and Biden have only pointed out the inconsistencies in her political history and have made no issue of her private life. If the situation was reversed and Biden had a 17 year old pregnant daughter do you think Republican's (and Fox News) would take the high road the Dem's ticket has? I don't.

One of McCain's selling points of Palin when he brought her on board were her strong family values. It was nothing but how great her family is at this and how great her family is at that... They initially made her family the core selling point of her. Now that Palin herself came out with the daughter story the GOP response is how dare people talk about her family. Any discussion what so ever is considered an attack. Pathetic.
