Rush: 2112

I was about 10 years old when this album was released. 37 years later and it still stands the test of time. I listened to it today for the first time in about 2 years and is still one of my top 5 favorite albums of all time.

Geddy Lee is the man

I bought his solo album My Favorite Headache a few years back. Phenomenal. Rush are one of those bands that you either love them or hate them. But I have never understood those that hated them. They took a bit of a diversion in the 80's but I thought through all the experimentation they grew musically. Alex Lifeson seemed to become a better guitarist I guess you would have to playing with the likes of a Neil Peart.

What are the other 4?

In fact, I'll hijack it!

If you were stuck on an island, and had the ability to play compact discs, but only the same 10. Which 10 would it be?

Nice thread BC. Rush is a great band. Although "2112" isn't my favorite Rush album, it's still a cool, trippy ride.

After 40 years, Rush continues to deliver. Their 2012 release, "Clockwork Angels" is very good, imo.

"You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill;
I will choose a path that's clear-
I will choose Free Will. "

ahhhh...thats the stuff

Rush a great band, watched them in 1992ish in Birmingham (UK, not fucking Alabama!)

I was in London a few years back and these 2 women from Alabama were checking into their room. One says " I am from Buurmeenghayuhm! You have a Buurmeenghayum here too don't cha?" The clerk says never heard of it! We have a city called Buhrhmingum however! This was at a hotel called the Savoy. They are a bit stuffy there lol.

Great early live performance of 2112. My favorite Rush song.

Gene Simmons calls Rush The Canadian Zeppelin.
