Roe v. Wade

I think this is big enough to warrant its own thread. It really is huge in so many aspects, from the ****** documents to the implications of overturning the decision.

An interesting argument brought up by a lawyer friend is whether someone who conceived in a state which bans abortions, and then gets one out of state can then be charged with ******.

All I know is, I have never seen my wife this pissed off, about something political. For once, she's the hot head in the marriage. I just wonder if this wasn't a shitty way, to distract the dems, from working on immigration, or *** control. Let's be realistic, it is far more important then both of those, especially since nether is going to change. I also wonder if the numbnuts that did this realize what they just did to every republican candidate, good or bad. This move will effect the anti trump right, just as bad as it will effect his cronies.

Go back to the 2016 campaign threads on this forum, everyone knew it was about more than The Orange Pig vs The Clinton Swine.

Yup. A coworker of mine voted for The Orange Pig. When others in the office were incredulous, he replied that he voted Republican, because of the impact on Supreme Court nominees.

In retrospect, I think we picked the wrong hog.

'I'm not a moron': Cruz spars with reporters over leak of draft Supreme Court opinion overturning Roe v. Wade, suggests the culprit was a 'left-wing law clerk'

Obviously a clickbait headline quote, but still, too tempting not to share

Somebody ****** it. If you asked cortez or omar, they might say some right-wing law clerk. I wonder what omar is allowed to think about abortion, being her religion provides very little if any rights for woman.

The sources of the leaks should be fired - or, more appropriately, resign. Whoever did them, should have been aware of the repercussions.

Regardless, we are where we are. At least we know what this summer's ******** will be about.

I'm very confused on this.

From reading Wikipedia and other articles, I understand that the 1973 ruling may not be Constitutionally solid. I really don't understand that enough, but I can see how that could come to pass.

Even Ireland allows abortion. It is surprising to me that the debate is so close in the US.

I guess there are just strong belief. I thought the number of Republicans who are Pro-Choice is fairly high.

Just seems that this is politically a loser.

I don't understand this issues from the US perspective.

I fear this si going to happen more frequently, and sadly, it will eventually lead to injury, or death. These people aren't really much better then pro life nuts, that **** abortion doctors.

What about my post confuses you. As far as your post goes, I'm not sure I can answer the other questions you asked, so regarding those, all I know for sure is, it tends to work out that most republicans are against abortion, and most democrats are for the right of a woman to choose, although nothing, or neither, is exclusive to the belief.

So serious!

Now for the lighter side of the news ...

Between the two, I like "wade" better.

I wonder how much this is going to cost the U.S. tax payer.

Here are a couple of articles, from different points of view, in case anybody cares to read them. I did not, I just posted them based on the titles, and cannot say if I do, or do not agree.

One thing I don't get is why many Republicans were anti-vax on the basis that "it's my body, my choice", and yet in this case they're totally ok with the government imposing their will on their right to choose whether they have an abortion or not.
