RJS13 Foodie Thread

I had 3 of those little boxes of cereal on account of I wanted to try a bunch of them. Corn Pops were pretty shitty. It was literally popcorn but crappier.

Corn pops used to be the shit before they changed the formula. Just like Kraft Mac & Cheese used to be good until they fucked it up. Now I wouldn't feed it to my dog. Bastards

I know you're going to think that this is me just being a hater or talking shit, but I'm just offering feedback to your post. Why cubed steak when there are so many MUCH MUCH MUCH better options so easily available?
I was waiting for a canned mushroom soup comment from you so I'm kinda shocked. But to answer, I couldn't pass up the value. Would I have preferred filet mignon? Yes but didn't want to spend $13 on 1 cut the size of the dinner roll in the pic. You could cut this shit with just a fork, and I did. Shoulda been there ;)

you don't have to go filet but why not a ribeye or NY or something? all to save $1 or $2?
Ive been eating Keto for the last 2 months so no carbs and I'm learning a whole new way of cooking.

Pork chop with mushroom and red onion reduction sliced beefsteak with sea salt and cracked pepper, strawberry salad with sweet butter lettuce and homemade apple cider vinegar dressing. steamed broccoli and some sliced radish and hard boiled egg.

Damn girl, I'm salivating over here, looks amazing. But ya, tbo the meal wasnt premeditated and a last minute late night munchie binge. Next time I plan a meal I'll remember this ^ post ;)

I'm resurrecting this thread because I'm gonna post a recipe soon. Sometime. I got a vacation from work for 3 months(seasonal) so guess what?? I'm baaaaaaack!!! (I can see the look on Admin faces right now LOL). Your stuck with me like a bad case of herpes, at least until October ;)

I want to smoke a spatchcock, nibble the gizzards and suck out every drop of savory juice.

Anyone got any good rubs they use?

My wife makes a great little casserole using canned and frozen stuff that's pretty good made out of canned and frozen, it's pretty amazing when you scratch make it...as much as you can anyway.

Brown either boneless breasts or thighs. Nuke a bag of frozen broccoli, open a can of cream of mushroom soup, and a jar of mushroom slices. Cook a box of stovetop stuffing, and grab a bag of shredded Cheddar. Put the soup, shrooms, broccoli, and pieces of chicken, which she cuts into smaller pieces....the size is your choice...into a 9x13 glass baking dish. put about a third of the cheese in with the mixture and mix it in, then cover with the stovetop, and put the rest of the cheese on top, and bake at 350 for about a half an hour. Everything should already be just about cooked through, the oven is to melt, brown, and heat up.

My wife has made it with fresh shrooms, and broccoli. Homemade stuffing and fresh grated cheddar, and it is much better, but for a quick one dish meal, it's pretty good.

That's simple home cooking at it's finest. Sure, you can make it all from scratch and go all fancy, but I see the beauty in these things as well. There is no need to look down on this sorta thing. I like fine foods, but I also like these things which are often passed down from grandmothers from large families on a budget.

Now that I think about it, she used to make another one that went like this.............

Either browned boneless thighs or breasts, a can of cream of chicken soup, and a bag of frozen peas, carrots and corn, mixed and in the baking dish, then she took small Pillsbury biscuits, cut them in half, placed them on top, CUT SIDE DOWN, and baked it at the same temp., I assume (sorry), until the biscuits were golden brown.

Very good winter food.
