Ric Flair - Greatest All-Time Wrestler?

Conspiracy...
That's not true for the simple fact that if you attend any wrestling camp, like I have before, one of the things that they tell you over and over again is that that's exactly what it's like.

It's all choreographed, and it has to be,otherwise there would be more severe injuries and more often that they have now.

They learn the moves. But, once they get into the ring they make the calls, except who is going to win.

Matches aren't rehearsed like plays are.

The are rehearse verbally before matches.Maybe not down to every minute detail, but have you ever wondered why every wrestler does pretty much the same moves, respective to each individual,in every match you see them in? It's so that when they get into the ring they know what the other person is gonna do before they actually do it.

The Refs are the ones who set the tempo of each matches and direct which way the tide will turn and when. There is a hierarchy in wrestling where the more experienced guy gives more direction of what moves to do,but everyone starts at the bottom in house shows and camps where they actually learn how to choreograph a match so that when they get to the bigger promotions, they can get into the ring without 1) looking foolishly green and more like a polished wrestler and 2)so that they don't get themselves or their partner hurt.

Just what I said. The wrestlers talk to each other in the ring and perform.
The outcome is predetermined.

He asked about which WRESTLER.

How many of these can actually wrestle? None.

We have a winner!

The Undertaker isn't that bad.

Bret Hart is not better than Ric Flair.

He's one of the top wrestlers, just not the best.

The Undertaker is not a wrestler. He knows a few moves like Hogan did.

Bret Hart vs Ric Flair for the greatest wrestler of all time will never be decided for sure. My opinion says Bret is the better of the two. :hatsoff:

I think Brett is a good choice, but it really surprised me that no one said RVD.

He was so good that when he came over to WWE,they had to pretty much hand cuffed him from the way that he wrestled in ECW because the other WWE wrestlers couldn't keep up with him.

If nothing else,he's the best pure athlete that I've ever seen inside the ring.

Agreed, but I really hesitate to give him any mention of being the best wrestler.

Here is one that should be said. I don't like what he did, but we can't ignore his talent: Chris Benoit.

I have been a fan of wrestling (specifically WWE) for years now, and I have always known that it was pretty close to 100% fake. The thing is that I find it to be very entertaining and that is what draws me to watch it each and every week

Just think about every other show on tv, they are all fake, and people find them to be entertaining, and then why is it that people always make the point of saying wrestling is fake, yet every other television show is fake

Even reality shows like Survivor and Big Brother and such, even these shows are fake

The Undertaker is not a wrestler. He knows a few moves like Hogan did.

this is true for the Undertaker, but as far as hogan goes, he was a great Wrestler, one of the best ever, and saying that he only knew a few moves is the biggest joke, he could and probably still can preform way more moves way better than the Undertaker could

if you are going by in the wring wrestling moves, Ric Flair and Brett Heart are on par in my books, but if you add in mic skills and out of the ring skills and promos and such, then Ric Flair is ten time better than Brett Heart

Hogan a great wrestler? lol

Flair was second to none on the mic. Maybe The Rock.

You're a nut.

I want a video uploaded to youtube. :D
Anything is possible with the right leverage. Let's see The Undertaker walk the ropes by himself.

Lord Dipstick
1:Ric Flair
2:Hulk Hogan
3:Bruno Sammartino
4;Steve Austin
5:Bob Backlund

Hogan a great wrestler? lol

Exactly what I thought.

Flair was second to none on the mic. Maybe The Rock.
The Rock was the best on the mic, hands down, end of discussion.

My personal favorite was Scott Steiner. You just never knew what ridiculous shit would come out of his mouth.

It's really hard for me to believe that there are still people out there that actually think that Undertaker has "cat-like agility"!:1orglaugh
I guess some people just believe anything that Jim Ross says.

I never said that Ric Flair had the best mic skills of any wrestler, I just said that he had better promo and mic skills than Brett Heart

Of course nobody can top the rocks mic skills

IMO the wrestlers with the best mic/promo skills are:

The Rock
Stone Cold
Santino Marella
John Cena
Edge
G-G-G-G-Goldust (hes just so funny)

What!?

For a big man to walk the ropes like he can isn't a small feat.

Also, he knows many more moves than Hogan.

Undertaker has worked to make a whole lot of wrestlers - like his series of matches with Brock Lesnar did. The guy may not have the largest arsenal of moves, but I don't know that's all that necessary. Can he see a character? Hell, yeah. Can he move around a ring in a believeable way? Hell yeah - much more than Hogan could, for sure. He's had an unusual career, because for so much of it, he's been encased in a very "set" character, but even so, he's had lots of great matches, deserves all the fans he has. I just watched the steel cage match that he had recently with Edge and it was great.

You put John Cena on the list!?

Stone Cold was all talk, and not that great, without the ring ability to back any of it up. I can't count the Rock. He turned his back on wrestling to be a B-movie actor.

Ric Flair's mic skills and shoots are legendary.

Arn Anderson had some skills too. Flair said Anderson was one of the best on the mic. He was also an underrated wrestler.

Can you weigh 300 lbs and fly through the ropes? I thought that was well in the past for Undertaker until I saw him do it at a House Show towards the end of his Big Evil period - I was damned impressed!

Sumo Joe can do that too. I saw him fly through the middle ropes and slam into Kevin Nash. That was hilarious. :D

Flair is great. If you haven't seen any of the Flair-Steamboat matches, then you don't know what wrestling is. The Horsemen took a back seat in the story lines when those 2 wrestled. Flair could wrestle a jobber and make it look great. And then his promos were creative.

Yeah, I know pro-wrestling isn't real fighting but when wrestlers could work a match and get the fans interested, then they are doing their job.

In terms of career longevity Ric Flair is the best. He consistently competed at a high level in the business to a decent standard as a mouthpiece or wrestler.
However as a performer Bret Hart is the best I ever saw.
The Rock is superior to Flair on the mic.
Not the best at either of the main aspects of Wrestling but as for an all rounder he is up there with the best.
