Two that immediately come to my mind are two of my personal favorites:

In my humble & personal opinion, both of these modestly popular in the '90s with some of us big time lovers of they're work starlets are FAR too young to retire. Melissa Hill suddenly upped and quit the industry in the early '00s after one or two pathetic "blink-and-you'll-honestly-miss-her" mainstream cameos in legit films (I know that Vanila Sky the movie with tom Cruz is one of'em where she is seen dancing in a group or on a billboard for something like two full seconds, but I'm sorry that movie was a pathetic remake of a damn fine Spanish language film, with too many laughable to me moments).
Don't quote me on it but in the few times I looked at her then sometimes up-dated Yahoo! profile from this Yahoo! Club (one of the two about her I belonge to many, many years ago now), I believe she had a breif love affair with that Uncle Kraka guy who is the DJ and hanger-on best friend of Kid Rock. But does anyone have any idead about her where abouts? The same thing with Rebecca Lord: The free part of her site--her confessions page and her blog--as well as the few interviews I've seen of her show her to me at least to be fairly highly intelligent, but also a bit of a spoiled flake. She already seem's to be a fairly well-off financially and rich mainland European, and her hubby (apparently very understanding) is a French adult film director, and they've taken vacaiton photographs from all over the world, and she ridiculously over-charges for fan phone sex (!!!) services as well as special vidoe requests that are hysterical if you decide to check'em out. But I do truely like her; she seem's cool enough, though a bit of a prima-dona, but most women in the industry are (oh hell I'm no above a few litely controversal comments: most gorgeous, considered beautiful thin women like her in our western world are full of themselves and can afford to be prima-donas, what with the obesity opademic and a shortage of hotties in many surprising places there days; just my two cents). But she hasn't up-dated in years now, and I guess she's either still enjoying Europe or is quite flakey. It's a personal matter of whatever you think.
I would LOVE to see them comeback, as when both truely but they're heart & souls into the scenes and especially the few times I've seen Rebecca swallow cum with facial popshots, I'm in heaven. Melissa is hands-down the best Redhead that I love from the adult film industry's last truely golden shot on 35mm film and early digital video days. I'm always looking up her stuff these days.
Also, I REALLY wish Sharon Mitchell wasn't attacked in '96 by a fucking pig asshole fan and raped, and that she went to school to get a degree in human sexuality and to do her AIDS work with fellow adult film stars, as while it's truely noble of her, she still has some fine MILF and now that new bullshit "Cougar" years left in her. If Nina Hartley (bless her) is still with us and shooting, then I see no reason why Sharon Mitchell can't make a 3rd come-back after her mid '90s resurgance. Just my two cents once again. I know many never like her short cropped off hair and more "soft-butch" look, but I always LOVED her sexual evergy in scenes and her unique this-is-my-sexuality-and-who-I-am looks and attitude. Guess to each they're own.

Interesting choices like mine above, I feel, but there are very slim chances of either of them coming back. Traci Lords more of less prefers to be d-list now and to be a more obscure somewhat Los Angeleno. Since her very few and modest more mainstream 35mm film roles many years, she's more of less distanced herself from her mid '80s and late '80s adult film past and I believe even refuses to answer questions about it, I believe. Hope that helps.
And didn't Asia Carrera (whom I was never a big fan of by the way, but to each they're own) sadly develop a pretty bad gambling problem and get badly into debt? So it's interesting that she eventually didn't go back to porn.
