From my 1000 posts 99% are in this section, so it makes sense to post this thread in this ID section also, especially as there are many people just like me who do not and will not venture other sections to read messages like this one.
Why has the reputation system been changed?
I think I speak on behalf of the majority that is would be better to have never changed a winning team and bring it back to the old system.
A lot of us are busting our asses off to help the community with ID requests or new photo galleries/ info or whatever.
A forum like freeones depends on their members, why not let them remain to have the old reputation system that cud make them feel a bit more appreciated for what they do????
I hear a lot of complain via pm of the hardcore ID'ers, but nobody questions it or knows what happened after the migration to the new servers? Nowhere is explained why the rep system has been changed and how it now works exactly.
We all work our asses off to help, but for a lousy + 1 reps or most of the time 0.4 reps.
I mean, how DOES the system work?
For instance my Rep Power is supposedly 41825 (altho it says so under my avatar). If I give someone positive reps now, the system only adds 8!! reps to the other person. Thus actual rep power is 8? It used to be 4183 in this case. So someone with lets say 1000 rep power is only able to give 0.1 reps????
In the old system we all would've had a lot more appreciative reps.
Its demotivating to work your ass off for hours (sometimes) for a lousy +0.2 or 0.3 reps at a time.
Its like from being a garbage man in amsterdam with a monthly paycheck of 1800 euro's ($2500) to now doing the same work but then with the pay check of a garbage man from some third world country in africa (zimbabwe or wherever) of 2 euro's ($ 2.66) per month.
Whats wrong with making members feel more appreciated for what they do?
I'm not planning to continue to participate anylonger if this new rep system stays.
I would be interested what other members and staff think.
