Repeats / Reposts

I've noticed that with the more popular women, (Katie Fey, Kyla Cole Bellisima, Marketa Belonoha & many others) that people tend to post the same galleries over and over. It's one thing if a person posts a link that many have only 12 pics and someone else finds a link that has 16 or 20 pics from the same set or if someone posts even the same set but the photos are bigger or of higher quality. That's all fine by me. What annoys me is the lazy people who don't even attempt to see if someone has already posted the exact same link. I admit that I sometimes I've done it by mistake, but I see people who deliberately repost the exact same links that they themselves just posted a couple of days ago or that someone else posted only a couple of posts before them. What's up with that? How lazy and lame are they? I wish there was a way that we could edit those out because they waste an awful lot of time and space. Does anybody else have a thought or opinion on this?

Although it would of course be great if no one reposted, it can't really be expected of people to look through several pages of links before they post a link. We encourage people to take part in threads and add to the many links already posted. If we begin demanding that people look through 5+ pages of links, there won't be that many people caring to add anything, unless they've followed the thread for some time and have memorized every link.

Nor is it in our interest to go through threads and search all the links, so we can edit out the reposts. There are too many other things to do, and it's really not that big an issue most of the time.

Things of the forums. Just try to get used to them and not let them bother you.

Besides, there are more annoying things that members post.

It's an issue that has been brought up countless times here on the board.

The Mod squad sees it as a problem when a member begins posting "old" links in countless threads.

It ends up looking like post count spam and is quickly dealt with.

I wouldn't mind, as a OP, taking responsibilty for this stuff in the threads I start (although within in reason of course, I can't catalouge every link!). What I find more odd is duplicate threads of the same model.

While having been convicted of this myself, I don't feel it's a matter of my laziness. I used to go to a lot of sites and look for links of about 10-15 different girls that hopefully were new every morning and then a few others at night after they updated for the next da. Then I would host a picture on an outside source so everyone could see a picture from the link they were clicking on in my post.

Well someone didn't like that and thought I was being lazy as mistakes were made with a few of the many posts every week. So I mostly stopped, it was a lot of work anyway. There are some trolls here who are happiest complaining about anyone and everyone else. :dunno:

I made a thread about this a ways back because I used to see it as a problem, too. And indeed it is, when as aforementioned, users are posting old posts in multipke threads. But they're dealt with accordingly.

Anyway, as i've also argued, it's not such a big deal. There are new users popping up all the time and they're trying to make a contribution and be part of the community. its a lot better than being a troll A-HOLE keyboard warrior trying to stir things up all over the place. Plus who amongst them is going to go through all 100+ pages of Vron, Aria Giovanni, Erica Campbell, NDN, etc? Have you?

I used to post A LOT of gallery links, and I DID look through all the pages, but like AFA, i'm also guilty of reposting.

nobody is perfect, just post away and have a good time

The greater sin is someone who repeated posts things like, "cool", "she's hot", and nothing else. Then everyone subscribing to a thread clicks on it to see what's new and finds, "She's hot", with no link. Several users have had 150 or more posts deleted out of a total of maybe 175 for this and other reasons.

I find people posting those type of posts, in id threads, worse.

Nothing's least helpful in id threads than, "She's hot", "Wow", "Great boobs", etc.

I can understand why people do it, but I'd appreciate it ALOT more if people gave out rep to the link they liked.

Of course, a bump once in a while is fine to get attention for an old still unknown ID thread. I say, "wow" sometimes to let the thread starter know I liked the post, but don't do it habitually.

Once in a while. Of course, you get the threads with 6 replies and no help to the query in less than 3 hours. :1orglaugh

I personally don't like people bumping my id threads. Unless of course it's been days since a last post. I know some like to post in the thread, and as you said, to say they liked the girl(s) but to me, that doesn't matter; offers no help and just clutters the thread. IMO, wait until the girl is id'ed and state opinions in her main thread. :2 cents:

Reposts are a fact of life, that's about the only thing I can guarantee.

They may also be a symptom of laziness, carelessness, oversight, newbishness or an honest mistake. So long as the links are legit, however, they'll stay and won't be a (real) problem in my eyes.
