Do you live in a hole? I have worked with Muslims before, the ones I worked with followed the dietary habits, and that was about it. Hell one of my female team mates was a Muslim immigrant from East Africa, I worked with her everyday for three months, before I realized she was a Muslim. There are all kinds of Muslims: lapse, go through the motions, follow some but not all of the Quran, believer, devout, nut-job, and extremist. Just like every religion.

Like, sadly, Ace. I do not know where he lives and why he did not meet the absolute majority of muslims, my guess is: Selective Perception. People tend to notice what matches their beliefs. Things that endanger their limited views get blended out.

I have had the joy of meeting so many different people, played in a soccer team with students from all over the world, lived in neghbourhoods with turks, indians, arabs, jews, man, there are good people and assholes from EVERY walk of life. It's not about religion or nationality.

I like my melting pot in Los Angeles. Now I'm the tolerant one as Persians complain about Arabs. I see more women with full head veils now in Westwood. My policy as an American is to respect another culture. As long as he holds her by the hand is fine but if he takes her by the neck then I take him by the neck. Seems fair. If you are not tolerant toward other cultures then your life in Los Angeles will be miserable. If you don't know how to assimilate as an immigrant then your life in Los Angeles will be miserable. Considering that the overwhelming majority of prison inmates in the United States claim to be of the Christian faith it could easily be concluded that Christianity is the most violent and lawless religion in this country. Should we therefore assert that Christians are dangerous? Or would it be more fair and accurate to assess criminals for what they are, sociopaths with no regard for law and order that don't speak for the religion they happen to profess belief in? I think the logic should be the same when applied to those of the Islamic faith or any other religion.

I walked in on a fellow down at the corner store who was kneeling and praying. He offered me a free copy of the Koran. I thanked him, accepted his gift, bought a Dr. Pepper and bag of Skittles and went on my way. He pulled up shop and left town a couple of years later but he was a nice fellow, moved his business to a better location and is still hanging around, even though his type isn't received favorably where I live.

I've known a guy that's an extremely devout Christian conservative since 1999, we've debated each other relentlessly but have always been really good friends. His son was recently arrested for wrapping an electric cord around a woman's neck and strangling her to death.

What's the point of the two analogies above? Not much, anecdotes aren't evidence, but I think it illustrates that you really can't judge someone based on their religious beliefs.

Being AF here in America that went to college I'm accused of by others blacks of being for the other side when telling them to cool down with the 2nd F hate bs. The 1st is of the two F's that divide of the whites :Fear" and blacks "frustration". The problem of all races is we put material goods, having things to project a TV made images, over living life and your family. And the suburb life style that is advertised in football games are all about excess buying to keep up with the Jones with stuff that ends up in your garage or a storage unit never to be used.

I remember the first Black guy that moved into the neighborhood. I felt bad for him because he was also a cop like my dad. His wife was a smelly PC hippy who was the one to avoid. There have been a few Blacks that moved into the neighborhood but they are the preppie/yuppie type like many of the rest except for the hoity-toity Persians who I've learned to get along with over the years. A Black security fella who drives a yellow SUV vents to me about the White people wanting him to chase after all the Blacks. I try to be both honest and compassionate as he's just a working stiff sometimes feeling he's working behind enemy lines. I worked plenty of security too so I allow him turn me into a psychiatrist. I don't get upset at someone leaving Latin America to come here for a better life for themselves and their families. I would probably do the same thing myself risking the same if I were that desperate. I do get mad at the filthy politicians who pretend to be tough on the border or give a shit about our national sovereignty/security. Both political parties benefit from illegal immigration either through future voting demographics or cheap labor for business as they keep us at each others' throats. I pay illegals cash money all the time to do work. Some very mice Latin ladies make me Breakfast Burritos every morning at Jack In The Box too. Fresh and cheap.
