There are all kinds of things here that I could mention. KKK groups, ultra right-wing groups who do not give women equal rights (who actually treat women at least as badly as the extreme Muslims do), globally organized white-supremacist groups who systematically hurt/disenfranchise people who look different...

But I won't. You're right. There is not an exact Christian parallel for the global terrorist organization that claims the Muslim faith (though those people misinterpret Muslim law). Clearly that makes Christianity...what? Better? more tolerant? A more globally friendly religion?

What about the right-wing religious zeal to destroy all things Muslim? Is that a good example of what Christ-like behaviour is? Is that "better" than the things you mentioned above?

In general, lumping those fringe groups in with Christianity. I just believe there is no real relation between the two - at least not in today's world. :2 cents: And even then, even if they front under the name of Christianity, they pale in comparison to the global 'Jihad' that is pretty evident in our world today.

Certainly there are individuals(Breivik, Eric Rudolph) who commit murder/terrorism in the name of Christianity or small groups(Westboro Baptist Church) that do ignorant moronic acts. These acts by themselves are heinous and there is no excuse for them period.

What we're seeing today in the Ummah is akin to what Christianity did to fellow/non Christians from 1099-1650. Christianity burned itself out in Europe specifically West Europe. Burned itself out through war, famine, and disease.

Islam is going through that violent upsurge now, only instead of swords, they have assault rifles, biochemical weapons, and plastique.

I would be foolish not to agree with you and admit that Islam has some serious issues, but I don't believe it's anything inherently evil about that particular religion. It's cultural/political and the West has thrown gas on the flames by constantly interfering in Muslim(especially Arabs) affairs(OIL).

As for islam I've seen some stuff like Bill Maher's documentary on religion(pretty much attacks everyone) I am aware due to his background he would still be slightly biased. But still all of the moderates he talks to chants the same shit "No, No, No" as in there is no problem with islam, Its a peace loving religion. Compare that to our moderates and you will find we actually will criticise our own religion. That is to me a essential difference of major import.

Not saying that it isn't a legitimate issue that some fear immigration by those that they feel are incompatibale with their culture/values. I think it's normal for humans to want to associate with embrace those that are more like 'themselves'.

But at 2 or 3 percent of the populace I just didn't see where Norway has been overrun by Muslims.

There's a lot of generalization and judging many on the actions of a few in here. I can't help but ask, what percentage of Christians are murderers? What percentage of murderers are religious? I'm unsure, but I can guess that it's very small. But some of you are willing to condemn all of them.
