Red Ring of Failure

Whoops! Thought this was a thread on anal VD. Carry on!!

:1orglaugh I was thinking along the same lines when I saw the thread topic!

about a year and a half into my 360, which I bought roughly 4 months after their launch, I got the dreaded "ring of death" (the three red lights)

when I took it in to get shipped, the guy at the UPS store said he got two-three in every week.

Now, I had two problems. First, since my one year warranty was up, I had to shell out $140. (microsoft's decision to cover this failure came about a month later. . . thankfully, they DID send me a check). I was pissed I had to pay, and the refurbrished one they sent me in return crashed every single time I tried to play, so I traded it in for a PS3, with which I am very pleased!

I've had mine since January and so far so good. I'm praying that it doesn't go out on me. I would've still waited on buying one like I had been but I got such a good deal on it I said what the hell. Where else are you going to get a Xbox 360 Premium for $150?

a guy i work with said he got the NCAA football and was playing when the game froze and it said disc dirty please clean. he just opened the tray and closed it and it worked fine......
then today i spoke with him and he got madden09 put the game in to start his dynasty he went through all the training drills and such and went to start the 1st exhibition game and the 1st play it locked up/froze on him. he was going to eat with his fiance' so he just turned the system off....
IS this the Start of the RRoD for him? any advice i could give him? (knock on wood i hope it doesn't happen to me!)

how long has he had the machine? a friend of mine had his doing the same thing but the laser burnt a few weeks later. (although his was almost on 14-15 hours a day (yea...no life lol)). so it could be the laser about to burn out. i broke down and bought another system to see how long it would take to go down.

 I've never known an X360 to be stable. I would've bought one if I knew it would actually WORK.. so I went with PS3 and havent regretted it. :)

I'm on my second ring of death, and I'm supposed to send it in again.

My first ring of death occurred around the same time last year. Too bad Microsoft won't fix this bug, the 360 is an awesome format and the live player connection is totally ACES!
