I hardly ever watch the telly other than to get the news (and I'm even becoming restless with that lately... with all the horribly bias coverage I see), but one type of TV I NEVER watch is Reality TV. Most of the ideas seem really stupid to me... just my opinion however. Nevertheless, I thought it might be interesting to get some other views on this.

It's pretty cool. Why hate on it?

Some of those sitcoms are so fucking fake these days and un-realistic as hell.

Just my opinion though, I like things to be more realistic.

I watched the first Big Brother season when it was shown in Germany. But then I lost interest, because all of that crap is boring.
No one can tell me that he acts like in real life, when he knows that millions of people can watch him.
IMO they are all wannabe stars and there is nothing more unrealistic than reality tv.

Reality TV sucks ass.
And, FYI, it's more staged, planned and choreographed than professional wrestling. No television producer with millions in advertising revenue at stake is just going to leave everything to Chance and the collective whims of "random" people selected to live in a house or perform some inane tasks.

My reality TV tastes stop at Cops and MXC (Most Extreme Challenge). Now that’s reality. ;)

What a load of bullshit that is.

Pro wrestling is a fucking joke. They pre-determine results, how gay is that? Makes it not even worth watching. Also, the fans are annoying, the wrestlers are annoying. Not to mention the wrestlers are oozing with steroids. If you poked a hole in a wrestler you'd get "the juice" spraying out.

Reality TV takes real people and puts them on TV competing in extraordinary circumstances that normally wouldn't be the case.

90% of wrestlers take steriods at least once just compare HHH and Scott steiner to now from 5 years ago u see what i meen

Sky1 are doing a celebrity penthouse with Victoria silsvdent, Samantha Fox and some others maybe abbi titmuss ( or titmass) u choose in june that be fun to watch

I agree that those shows are not nearly as sponteneous as they would like you to believe. That's the ultimate irony about them. The basic premise, that it's all "real," is not even true.

reality tv is just plain bull shit and it sucks @ss. you want to learn reality people what is the real life? then send them fighting with the airborne paratroops or in the us marines in Afghanistan or Irak and you will see how real these so called people will be.
Or another solution is to make them working in a firm at a very intensive rythm 8hours /day during 5 days every week then we will see how real these people will be.

Reality TV is pretty awful. I think things hit an all time low when they started showing one called The Salon over here - It really took the piss, and the series seemed to last months!!!! Arrrgghhh!

reality tv is pretty much a scam set up by the networks.Think about it, Why would you pay Tom Hanks millions of dollars an episode when you can put some guy off the street on there and not pay him jack shit?

Thats the real reason so many reality shows exist. Even the food network has reality shows for fucks sake.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but they do work normal jobs, but then they go on these shows to compete in whatever it is that is happening.

And yes... let's toss them into combat in the Middle East, that's just stupid.

Also, it is "Iraq", not "Irak".

no it is not stupid pat tillman sacrificed his life for honoring his duty towards his country, he died when fighting the taliban. The reality tv people are just dad's son or dad's daughter that are good to nothing.I would like to see them how courageous they are when they will face dangerous situation.
Those reality tv people are just crap and narrowminded.

i just give you my opinion

georges;):)

I never said the fighting was stupid, I just said that throwing people out with no training and see how they fare in Iraq or Afghanistan would be stupid.

And your opinion that reality TV people are crap and narrowminded, is just that, crap and especially narrowminded.

Have a good day.

I'm quite certain that Georges was being facetious with his remarks. He was comparing the peril that contestants face in some of these shows with the much more serious perils faced by those in the military. At first I thought his comparison was going too far, but then I remembered a very frustrating conversation I once had with a reality TV fan who told me "Rudy" (I've never watched Survivor but even I know who he is) was the toughest guy he'd ever seen... etc. etc.... and that the US should send him to get bin Laden!

I would much rather use more "realistic" examples of courage than those found on a reality tv show..... I believe that's the point Georges was making.

haha me narrowminded :wtf::bs: of course you will not throw someone in a battle with out teaching him/her how to use a glock and m16 and other combat tactics, that would be stupid sacrifice. My error was that i haven't precised it.

Reality tv people don't create jobs they don't make the industry and the society move forward, they are just like advertisement once they are outdated they are forgotten.
