Question for those who are the middle child in the family?

Ever suffer the 'middle child syndrome'? I'm the middle child in the family and there were times in my childhood and even today where I felt I was never given enough attention, I didn't know what role to take on in the family.

Kind of. There were even years in which they forgot my birthday... I felt like no one really 'got' me, or cared most of the time (except one of my sisters).

Now I'm incredibly happy, married to my best friend, doing a job that I love...
I don't talk to my parents much (one not at all), nor one of my siblings, but the ones I do talk to - we get along just fine. ;)

My little sister is spoiled, she gets everything. I don't make a deal about it though because that's just how it goes, the baby gets everything meanwhile I don't get shit.

No, but I do suffer from being the youngest.

My sister is the middle child. Since she is the only girl, she didn't have these issues.

No can't say I did. Though I am closer to my younger sister than the eldest who was always the favourite.

Me too! I've noticed if parents treat their kids like crap they normally treat all of them like that, sometimes the first child may get better birthday parties etc (the parents are so happy they've had a child) but this normally stops by the age of 3. I think in some families the youngest gets spoiled but I wasn't and had older brothers and sisters who weren't protective of me, we just aint that close as a family.
