Question about rivals

If your favorite team is eliminated from the playoffs by a bitter rival (the Yankees by the Red Sox, the Boston Bruins by the Montrea Canadians..etc) do you than root for or against your teams rival the rest of the playoffs?

But i would never support the Rival team Rangers, you can never cross a devide that strong as the Old Firm

I almost always root against my most hated rivals but sometimes I hope they'll survive to get beaten by my team somewhere along the way. In your case, no way I'd cheer for them if my teams already knocked out, by them no less. It would seem weird to me if someone cheered for their rival in this manner.

I hate my rival team so much that i want them to never wina single game or play enough games that they are so tired that they can't win cups
You are not allowed to support a rival team, if you do, you are what we call here in Scotland, a glory hunter, you don't really support your team, you just support who is winning, this is heavily frowned apon.

Nothing can describe how much i hate my rival team, but that is just how feirce, the old firm rivalry is. People are killed over how much the two sets of fans hate each other, plus the sectarianism is unbelievable

I root for the Big 10 in bowl games, but I never ever root for the Red Sox, Yankees or Steelers.
