Re: Q&A With Me, Holly Rydem!

Welcome to the disturbing community of FreeOnes. So you take questions, here's one for you and no help from the audience:

If you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce, will they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does?

Never had rhubarb, so I don't think I'm entitled to answer such a question.

Oh, and watch out for Dirk. He bites.

Welcome to the board babe!!! I'm sure you're gonna love it here. :D

Oh and listen to Petra about Dirk.....he may look cuddly but he'll nip you 1st chance he gets. ;)

Do not, under any circumstances, listen to these delinquents. They clearly have no idea what they're talking about. I'm an awesome guy, just ask me!

I promise I'll be nice.

It's bitter shit. We always had it growing wild in my back yard. You have to really add copious amounts of sugar to make it tolerable. But you can make jam with it.

I'll have to pick up some rhubarb jam next time I go grocery shopping...

Rhubarb can be extremely delicious. I needs to be picked quite young, and it has to be cooked just right. Its bitterness can be combined nicely with sauces for either pork or veal. It also makes very good ice cream - not too sweet.

Not that you care. I just thought I'd share.

No, there's definitely things you can do with it. You can make a crisp, jam, things like that.

Any nutritional value though?

I'm not eating it unless it's old rhubarb

What about tea? What kind of tea do you like?

I'm a fan of tea. I love chai tea... warm or chilled. And do green tea frappuccinos count? Those are teh shit! I drink regular hot tea with honey when I'm sick. Cold iced tea with lemon and sugar, raspberry iced tea, and I just had a peach iced tea at Olive Garden the other day that was good.
