Punts hitting cowboys stadium video screen?

I heard that during pre game titans punters were hitting the video screen above the field. I thought also that it happened during the game. That is a good sign!:D

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
I saw that too. Jerry Jones even said something to Craig Hentrich during warm-ups. Damn, looks like the stadium is insufficient, better tear it down and start over...

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
if Jerry was as smart as he thinks he is, he would have brought Ray Guy in to show how high those phallic screens needed to be off the ground.

I think Ochocinqo could dent that giant screen with a kick. I have to say I'm impressed with Ocho....he is a pretty talented guy!

Jerry jones is the biggest jackass in the world. hes a snob piece of shit who thinks he owns the world and honestly could care less if he dropped dead right now.

They ask him about the video screen being a flaw in the new stadium since during pre game titans punters hit it 12 time and then in the third quarter they hit it during the game.

That pile of shit jerry jones who looks like he has had plastic surgery on his face once a month says

"You don't need to move it. You gotta be trying to do it. The rule is very clear. You just kick it over."

:thefinger:thefinger:thefinger:thefinger:thefinger:thefinger:thefinger:thefinger Jery Jones!

I've read that Jerry has no plans on moving it. I wonder what his opinion will be when his punter hits it, it's not noticed by the refs, and it costs his team field position. With Romo's luck it may even happen on a pass play.

I can only hope that in some game this year the Cowboy's have one of their punts in an important situation hit the screen, and then when they have a redo for it I hope the punter shanks it badly and it cost them big.

Yet another amazingly huge stadium with equally huge problems. Its like they never even think of the game that will be played there when they construct them.

Don't blame Jerry for scoffing at the suggestions he move the screen when according to all reports the screen's height of 90 feet is 5 feet above the League minimun.

That's a League issue.

The Cowboys own punter could only reach it at 90-100 feet if he kicked it up on purpose(like this guy was aiming at perhaps since its preseason)

Maybe the Commish will order Jerry to *fix it* and Jerry can give him the "bird" and we can turn this issue into a nice moment to fine the 'Boys bigtime....

Yup. It looks like a giant hole on television.

Start over Jerry--and this time, get it right.

Well you better do it now :1orglaugh

Poor Cowboys......

Generally if it happens consistently I think Punters should need to adjust to it.
It's part of the field like the refs are IMO.

It's hard to see this enormous screen as anything other than psychological compensation. This thing is basically a "projection" of Jerry's EGO on display for all to admire.... and since this screen can interfere with the game, that's all the better in Jerry's world..

The differences is that the refs very rarely get involved on a play and even then it's unintentional and they try their best to stay out of it. It's not like it's a static object in the field of play. The players also aren't supposed to intentionally get the refs in the play either. It's not like they are allowed to use one as a pick if they feel like it for example. The refs being out there are more a necessity for the game to function than some unneeded luxury that might cause problems.

Unlike baseball where every field's dimensions are different and it's a natural part of the game, I think football would loose something if it didn't keep things more or less standardized to keep things equal.

I wonder when they made that rule. It's possible at the time they never envisioned a massive structure that takes up a lot of space above the field of play at that time. It's not like it's some barely visible wire that stings across the field, or a few cloth banners. I wouldn't be surprised if a few punts hit it every year or that it obstructs the catchers view or the ball gets lost in it's background even more than that. It wouldn't have been hard to put it 15 or 20 feet higher just be safe. Sometimes common sense has to be used.
