I had a moment of weakness and purchased one yesterday. I'm not even sure why. I was instantly bummed when I found out there was no PS3 (or any) backward compatability. What is that shit about? Alice: Madness Returns is one of my favourite games in the world and I don't see it available for download and disc won't work. Seriously.. why is that a thing?

Anyway, what should I be playing? Note that I haven't so much as looked at the Playstation library since PS1, no joke.

I'm not much for PVP or first person shooters. I like dark, unhappy endings and stories in general but not a requirement. I don't do survival horror either. Too spooky.

Let's hear it!

What? :dunno:

You must be a fan of real life then. ;)

To be honest though, I mostly moved away from playing the PS4 a lot when I got a better computer and started playing mostly games on that. At least if it's on both I will always go with the PC version, but if you want to know some of the games off the top of my head I got for the PS4 they are: The Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, Batman Arkham Knight, Fallout 4, Metal Gear Solid the Phantom Pain, and Dragon Age Inquisition.

The only one I would rate as a must play is The Witcher to be honest. Enough has already been said about the game elsewhere for me to go into it more.

I actually liked the Batman game and even Fallout 4 despite the flaws in them. I don't expect any new Fallout to ever live up the the first two in a RPG kind of way. The new ones are what they are, and Batman Arkham Knight might have easily been the best of the series if they would have bothered to actually put more good non-Batmobile boss battles in it. They were both alright in my opinion despite it. Metal Gear Solid V had the best gameplay of the entire series mechanically even if it's plot was meh. About the only one I was somewhat disappointed in was Dragon Age, and even that wasn't necessarily what I would call a bad game, it just didn't live up to it's potential. At least it was a good step above Dragon Age II.

All of them except Arkham Knight I probably put more than 100 hours into. Like I said though I don't really play the PS4 that much anymore and haven't bought a game for it in years.

Playing The Last of Us right now. It's basically amazing, but my blood pressure is on high the entire time.

It's a few years old, but have you considered Alien: Isolation. It captures the atmosphere like the first Alien movie had pretty well even if it has it's own story. Some people find it scary. I don't know if I would describe it as scary as much as it might be better described as very stressful. You basically have to find a way of working around an almost invulnerable killing machine in the form of a xenomorph that you have no defense against until pretty late in the game, and it's constantly hunting you.

This one is too fucking scary for me. I'm really into Alien, as in I have comics and posters and stuff like that. I even have nightmares a couple times a year about the xenomorphs, no joke. This one.. I can't play. I'd love to, but I can't!

Ironically, I think the majority of "PS4 must plays" are games that got a simultaneous release with the PS3 (GTAV, Last of Us, etc), PS3 ports (Valkyria Chronicles), or PS3 remakes (Shadow of the Colossus)

Start right away with The Witcher 3. If you are into story aspects of the adventure, then pick story/casual mode and have +100 hours of light (but also darky) fun.

Finished The Last of Us today. And Left Behind, the bonus story. Jesus.. I'm so glad its over. It was incredible, like really good, but I was on edge the entire time. I suck with scary shit. And now they're making a part 2. Fuck my uncle. I'll obviously have to play it, and I'm not looking forward to it. That shit in the sewers..with the generator my god. Fuck that shit.

I'll totally get part 2. But I'm not gonna be happy about it.

Yeah that was scary. Once I got the key card I just hauled ass down the hallways. I wanted nothing to do with that party.

It freaked me the fuck out. Hated it. Hated it, hated it, hated it.

Monster Hunter World, Bloodbourn, Dark Souls III, Resident Evil 7, or Persona 5

The games in my collection that are must plays in my opinion; God of War, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Batman: Arkham Knight, Assassin's Creed: Origins, Grand Theft Auto V and Injustice 2.
