I own both , having played Pro evo for years , I bought Fifa because I lost faith in both Pro Evos that have been out for the PS3 they have been dissappointing!!
So I started playing Fifa but it is way too slow and the response times are really bad but I still prefered it to Pro , until I had a shot of Pro again a few bugs have cleared up and it seems an all round better game..
But I keep moving from one to another and cant decide , so people I would like to hear what yz have got to say?

WHICH IS BEST? PRO EVO OR FIFA :fight:

Nikki Benz: Simply the best #1!!
PES is way much better... can't wait for PES 2010!!

Ive always been a pro evo fan, the older PS2 versions were great to play round a friends house or even on your own. Always used to hate FIFA but this year when i got PES2009 i took it back to the shop after about 2 weeks and got FIFA.

So in my opinion:

2000 - 2008 = PES era
2009+ = FIFA era

Fifa 09 has fortunately (or not as you may see it) raised the bar and exceeded PES09. The last two or three incarnations of PES have hardly registered on the radar in terms of improvements. whereas Fifa has steadily taken on board lots of feedback/criticism and crafted an altogether refined experience. I have got Fifa 09 and think its quality, I am not tempted to buy PES too.

Yes I agree Fifa is far better than it used to be , but I think both games have good points and bad ones , the passing in Fifa is better no mad passes like you get in Pro , also online Fifa is brilliant but with pro its the worst game I have ever played online , but pro is more responsive than fifa plus its quicker also if Im gaming with my m8s its Pro I play but usually if Im playing on my own or online its Fifa I play but to be honest I think Pro has got worse since the PS3 came out!!!!!!!!

As for the licensing on Pro Evo you can download patches online or buy them of e-bay that sorts all that out and gives you the right names and strips plus all the German teams!!!

FIFA since PES hasn't done much in terms of well anything compared to FIFA (though it's still good) but I do hope PES does some amazing things for 2010 (two good games are better than one)

Last time I played PES 2008 on-line it was suffering very badly from lag even though my internet connection and the guys I played against had good fast connections. That totally ruined it for me as I mainly bought for on-line play being a fairly old hat from the very early versions. It didn't look as though Konami were addressing the problem seriously enough and I gave up with it. licensing was a minor niggle as you mention, but nothing that couldnt be sorted out easily.

What else I hate about the online play in pro is when you start a game and its laggy or freezes , if you switch it off you get a 3-0 defeat & it makes it look as if your a bad loser , what do they expect you to do? Its so annoying I just cant play it when its like that which is more often than not. But FIFA gives you 5mins to switch it off , if its laggy or a bad connection & you dont get penalized for it !!!!

Please Konami up your game!!!!!!!!!!!

I havent tried to deliberately disconnect from PES, but can believe what you say about it defaulting the game. I have have had countless trouble, whereby the play is somewhere around the midfield, it starts to stutter and before I know it the opposition has wlaked an easy goal beacause I hadnt a clue what was happening. FIFA 09 seems more diplomatic about this whole saga. Let us hope Fifa can raise the game even more in 2010, seems PES has lost the ball somewhat.

I liked PES 5 and 6 the best. (I had a great patch for 6...) And still prefer PES09 to FIFA09...PES just feels smoother and like Konami's graphics better than EA's.

I really hope the U.S.A. will be licensed in PES 2010.
