Presidential Candidates 2008 (early list)

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
If an actor is going to become president, I'd rather it be Jack Black.

I'd vote for Robin Williams! He's got that new movie where a comedian runs for president. He he can't do any worse than who ever else ends up in the white house! At least he was honest in that movie!

"I did not sleep with that woman...I wanted to!"

If a black man or a woman got elected then the office of president would lose all meaning.

now don't mistake me, I am in no way anti-black or women, in fact I'm anti-white man, and that's the whole damn point. That's what the office of president is all about. I would include rich in the title, but it's not neccesary to point that out because there has never and wuill never be any politican in america that doesn't fit that status.

anyway, to get back to the point, since we all know who really runs the government if they were to put a "minority" in office it would only be because they hoped to use it to get good PR and votes, not because they actually give a shit about minorities, and it would just be a confirm that the president was a total puppet.

Uhhh, Abraham Lincoln, for starters?

And there fore, being "anti-white" is acceptable and ok...

But who am I kidding?

in fact I'm anti-white man
Says it all...

Oh wait! I'm gonna hear you explain how "anti-white man" translates to being "anti government" as in 'sticking it to "the man"', right?

cheers,

as in 'sticking it to "the man"', right?

ugh, yeah, actually that's correct. Ok, look fine, I'm not saying that judging people based on thier skin color is ok. And I'm not really a believer in "white guilt", It's just let's be realistic. Let's even ignore which people enslaved and mass murdered which other ones, cuz I'm told that we all need to get over it (nevermind which one of those groups it is that is always saying that too). The bottom line is that "progress" means fuck all for you if you're a person that lives below the poverty line. and whether you care to admit it or not, most of those people are black. So when some people might be inclined to feel hostile about that, It's not right, but it's by no means at all coming even close to evening the score. So to put it very simply for White (with a capital W as in the Race of white people, as in the master race, as in the Christian duty, as in the American Way or the Highway, as in manifest destiny, as in the civilized) Men (with a capital M as in the king of his castle, the man of the house, the one with the big brain and the big gun, the alpha male, the absolute heterosexual or Else, the player, the pimp) to be on the end of the one's getting screwed over instead of the one's doing the screwing doesn't seem to be happening any time soon to me.

it's not a question of skin color or gender, or anything that just happens to be a biological coincidence. It's how a person sees themself in relation to other members of society based on those things. If you're a person that's just trying to do your best for your family and your fellows, and nothing more or less, than you're the kind of person that I'm looking out for. If you're using words that talk about race and roles and class for any other reason than why they should be abolished, than you probably fall into the former category and I say throw the bums out!

Jeb won't run ...

Jeb Bush (R) - With term limits looming, Jeb Bush won't be able to run for governor of Florida in 2006. Before the 2004 election, Jeb said he wasn't going to run for president in 2008. Translation: He's thinking about running for president in 2008.
Jeb won't run as he drags a lot of garbage (wife, kids, etc...). Kinda sad as he's the one Bush I actually like and the only one I've ever voted for (I live in Florida). I never liked H. or W.

And anyone who thinks Jeb was behind the 2000 election is beyond fucking ignorant, and it basically destroyed Michael Moore's credibility when he suggested it. It was Kathryn Harris (feel free to poke fun at her all you want), Jeb got the hell out of that mess before it started.

My money's on McCain to take the Republican ticket. I'd have to listen where he differs with the Republican platform, and who his running mate would be (since he's old). But unless I hear a lot of difference, I'm voting Bednarik if he runs again in 2008.

om3ga

It's good to be the king...

He'd get my vote (if I was American, that is)....

[edit] In all seriousness though, if a black or female American is the next Prez, I hope that person got there on merit, rather than the novelty of their skin colour or gender....:2 cents:

yeah, that's really what I meant too. sorry that I couldn't explain it as simply without the long-winded ranting.

Can we trust Clinton on her Period?

Can we trust Obama with such little credibility

Guliani? too many personal issues won't get the conservative vote.

Gore? Sneaky play, he can creep up while Obama and Clinton duke it out and steal the nomination

Edwards - Strong chance at winning the nomination for democrats as he can win the south.

McCain? somehow just during campaining his wife falls ill and is fundraising to get her better. (just speculating)

Romney- Mick mother f'n Romney - friggin spot on clean. got a health care system workin in Boston, a moderate to conservative with the only dent on his record... HIS GREAT GRANDFATHER WAS A POLYGAMIST. boy has no dirt on him other than he's a mormon. hes got my vote.

It makes no difference whether the President, Prime Minister or the Chancellor is a male or female. France almosts chose a woman called Royal as their President one week ago. How about Germany, England and Canada ? They all had female Prime Minister, Chancellor. It is the polices that count not the sex and race of the person that holds the office.

Angela Merkel, who studied physics and holds a doctorate in physical chemistry, is simultaneously the first female Chancellor of Germany, the first citizen of the former German Democratic Republic to assume the chancellery of reunited Germany, and the first woman to lead Germany since it became a modern nation-state in 1871. She is also, as of 2007, the youngest person to be German chancellor since the Second World War. Merkel, considered by Forbes Magazine to be the most powerful woman in the world, is only the third woman to serve on the G8 (after Margaret Thatcher of the UK and Kim Campbell of Canada) and in 2007 became the second woman to chair a G8 summit after Thatcher.

P.S. I like Mike Bloomberg, but have to wait for 4-8 years. Sorry the Democratic lock up this Election because some one named Bush failed the country. if the 3-4 ? US servicemen captured in Iraqi were killed, the Republican may finally say enough is enough in Iraqi. There is no way out !

Nikkala made me do it!
Any news of Mike Bloomberg on a third party ticket?
I read this about MB earlier today, in fact:
Bloomberg Ready to Spend $1 Billion on Presidential Run, Say Friends

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is prepared to spend an unprecedented $1 billion of his personal fortune to seek the White House as a third-party candidate, say sources close to Bloomberg.

"He has set aside $1 billion to go for it,” one long-time friend and adviser told the Washington Times.

"The thinking about where it will come from and do we have it is over, and the answer is yes, we can do it.”

Another friend said Bloomberg has "lowered the bar” for a final decision on joining the campaign.

Bloomberg has now told close sources that he will make a third-party run if he believes he can influence the national debate and would spend up to $1 billion.

Earlier he was telling friends he would run only if he thought he could win a plurality in a three-way race and would spend $500 million – less than 10 percent of his $5.5 billion fortune.

The mayor "could turn the political landscape of this election upside down, spend as much money as he wanted and proceed directly to the general election,” former Federal Election Commission Chairman Michael Toner told the Times.

"He would have resources to hire an army of petition-gatherers in those states where thousands of petitions are required to qualify a third-party presidential candidate to be on the ballot.”

Bloomberg has been meeting with senior advisers to Ross Perot to discuss Perot’s run as a third-party candidate in 1992, said the long-time adviser.

Also, Bloomberg has been spending "a conspicuous amount of time raising his national profile, traveling frequently to other states and engaging in national policy debates,” Time magazine reported.

Referring to a report last week that Bloomberg would seek the post of New York governor in 2010, another close source told Time: "Why would he want to be governor? If he runs for anything, it’ll be the White House.”

It's far more costly than what you get out of it ...

Any news of Mike Bloomberg on a third party ticket?
Anyone who runs on their own money for President -- not just a smaller office, but President of the US, is never going to get his money back.
It really steams me when people run for the office who are very wealthy and use their own money.
They honestly care about the well being of the nation and want to put out their own money to do it.

That's why I voted Perot in 1992, as well as the man's record.
