I am personally tired of hear it and I am tired of hearing about him all the time I mean ok great he made all these promises but lets give him a chance to actually do some of what he said and not rant on about the fact that he promised it.. I try to go on peoples actions and not what they say

You do know you have to wait for him to be inaugurated for him to do any of the things he says he will do? So for now you just have to make due with his word.

More people share this opinion than you think.

what we need to do is just not talk about him whatsoever. he was a huge mistake and the sooner we move on and try to correct the reprocussions which are still yet to be seen the better.

and wow am i gunna get a ton of negative rep for that one....
but ya know what? its yet another opinion and what are forums for? if i cant say it here then where can it?

Yea, you're not alone, trust me

:wtf:

The guy won't be inagurated for another 10 days, hasn't performed a single act as president; so on what objective basis can one state the he was "a huge mistake"??

I had my doubts about Bush all along, but I didn't actively oppose him until I'd given him four years to prove me wrong.

Thats the point I dont believe anything he has said and I dont think people should go on and on about how wonderful he is until he actually does more then talk

Yeah the phrase can get annoying and is unnecessary. Thankfully, we only have to hear people use the phrase for a little while longer, then we will all hear "President Obama".

Sometimes I will hear something enough I will get sick of it, but I can't really fault the media for keeping something factual.

Facetious

Moderated
Never has an American media (and populous) been so eager to swear in, not only a new President, but the first ever American - African President.
There's no other way to properly reference him, he is what he is. . . .The "P. E." and he'll continue to be for . . . what ? ten more days ?

It won't be long now - Welcome the new boss • Same as the old boss.
:spin:

True, but he's performed acts as President Elect. Take for example his (or Hillary's :p)
C.I.A. Directorship appt. :D Could there have been be a lesser qualified appointment ? Nothing personal against the man, but I would have selected a forty something Navy Seal, whose fluent in Arabic, but then again, I'm not interested in the clandestine dismantling of our once finest intel services, particularly during this stretch, we're due for a big . . . we'll leave it there.

Outside of the appointment your point is well taken.

You're kidding me?

Is anyone else tired of this shit? Yes, we all know that he's the president elect. Can't we contain ourselves for a little while longer and just call him Obama. Or if you want to jump the gun and go for Mr. President, that's fine by me too. But i'm sick of this stupid expression that seems to be the latest banal media buzzword. I don't remember it ever being used so much with any other former canidates.
Dude, that last statement made me laugh. Sorry, but true.

You can't call him Mr. President, only Mr. President Elect or The President Elect. Once he becomes President, then forever he will be Mr. President (even after out of office, with caveats, of course).

Every single President in my lifetime has always been referred to as "President Elect" once he was elected, but before he was sworn in. It's not for media effect, but respect for the institution.

Now I have to question what "respect" you have for the office. But that just goes to my longstanding problem with most Americans and their understanding of civics.

"I want it my way now! Or I want a simple majority now!"

Over 200 years later, let alone the centuries of writings before that, only prove why the founders considered the commoner to be a dangerous individual if given direct control. ;)

This is what I love ...

This is what I love. The man is trying to build his cabinet.

Now I took issues with the number of lobbyists or lobbyist ties some of his appointees have. He obviously did not "keep his word" from his campaign.

At the same time, every now and then, he does actually "go outside the box" and try to get someone who has little exposure in an area, but is still qualified. Maybe not the best, but the best he feels with. And then people criticize him over "experience" and "better candidates."

You can't have it both (or all) ways.

If he's going to go "outside the box" on nominations, then he's going to hit "less experienced" people. Lobbyists are everywhere, and it doesn't take much to "qualify" as a lobbyist. That includes a good 98%+ of people who are already around Washington, and had former (and even future) public service roles.

Let him build his cabinet and then we can base our views on what they do. Until then, let it go.

I can understand people like myself who complain about him hiring and bringing on way, way too many lobbyists and those associated with major lobbyist organizations, special interest, etc... when he promised not to (and then used the excuse "we need experience" in many cases).

But at the same time, I don't criticize his selections on lack of experience, especially if they are coming at it from another area for a reason that "Mr. President Elect" ;) feel more comfortable with. After all, if we really want to get on the "experience" non-sense, then we'd have to go down the road of many Presidents, their cabinets, etc...

So, to me, this is all rhetoric and it really has no foundation, sorry, but true.

Re: You're kidding me?

not much. but what does that have to do with anything?

Once again, I'm fully aware that is in fact his title and everyone else that has held the same position, I am merely saying that it is my impression that it is being said on the air more often and to the point of annoyance. I could be wrong. that is why I created this thread, to see what other people think about it.

I don't mind the use of the title, currently that is what he is until his inauguration. However what I am sick of is all the current assholes out there trying to make a buck by selling "AMERICAN HISTORY".

Obama plates, stamps, silver dollars, dildoes, shoes, shirts, skyscapers, his spot on the moon, your own planet in his recently named new galaxy!!

OKAY ALREADY!! He's a Democrat, Please stop fawning and pissing all over yourselves!!!

That my friends is what I am tired of.

He will only become the next Puppet (for a much, much larger corporation [governments are fronts for powers that be, illusioning the people to think they have a voice],which REALLY makes all the decisions) and that is the final word.
Notice his hair already turning alot more grey in the past 3 weeks?????
-probably once he was briefed on how he cannot do anything he "promised"us
