Is anyone else tired of this shit? Yes, we all know that he's the president elect. Can't we contain ourselves for a little while longer and just call him Obama. Or if you want to jump the gun and go for Mr. President, that's fine by me too. But i'm sick of this stupid expression that seems to be the latest banal media buzzword. I don't remember it ever being used so much with any other former canidates.

It's like they constantly want to remind themselves that they elected this guy so they can feel good about it.

but... isn't Obama president elect? :dunno:

:1orglaugh

He can't be called Mr President quite yet, soon though. And this is what all the others in the past have been called you were probably just not paying attention as much, as well as since times were better less media focus was on the new president elect so he was mentioned less.He is no longer a candidate, election is over but not quite President until he is inanguarated so President elect is what he is.Just calling him Obama would be seen as dismissive of his status,he is not just your average John Doe now ya know lol.

well you have argued that the person who currently holds the title wasn't elected to the office, so that gives him the title by default.

i'm not trying to say he isn't the president elect, just that I'm sick of hearing it.

Feel sorry for Obama (come to think of it, if McCain had won, I would feel sorry for him too) - considering the woes of America and the world, it won't take long for folks to slag him off...:dunno:

yeah. im tired of it. especially since i want nothing to do with the whole thing. i just heard his voice for the first time the other day. i try to stay away from all politics.

Ooh! A new Obama thread with a creative title!

I am personally tired of hear it and I am tired of hearing about him all the time I mean ok great he made all these promises but lets give him a chance to actually do some of what he said and not rant on about the fact that he promised it.. I try to go on peoples actions and not what they say

I'm tired of hearing the phrase too. Yes even Dubya was called president elect. I feel we should've had a Congressional Mandate ending Dubya's disasterous administration the day after Obama won. We shouldn't have sat around and watched the economy collapse while Dubya sashayed around the globe looking for any little nugget of positive news to call "a legacy."

We could've been on the road to recovery sooner if we kicked that moron, Dubya, to the curb.

what we need to do is just not talk about him whatsoever. he was a huge mistake and the sooner we move on and try to correct the reprocussions which are still yet to be seen the better.

and wow am i gunna get a ton of negative rep for that one....
but ya know what? its yet another opinion and what are forums for? if i cant say it here then where can it?

No I'm not sick of hearing because that's what he is. The President-Elect. What's next, when he actually becomes the President you'll be sick of hearing people call him The President?

I was just actually thinking about this the other day,so I definitely see where you are coming from and I do feel like the term is being used more as a "buzz word",but...

Even though the term seems to be over-used,darkwarrior is right, that's what he is,plain and simple.
