Posting oddities

A couple of things are bugging me ....

1) When I first started posting there was a "menu" of smilies beside the box. It's disappeared now and if I want to use a smilie I have to find it in a post somewhere to find it's code.

Is there a way of getting the facility back?

2) Sometimes I have a pornstars name and when I type it into my post it links to the Freeones Babes.

Sometimes the same name (even correctly spelt) will not link.

Is there any way of getting the names to link every time?

Did you use the quick reply? If so you don't get the smilie box. You have to click on the post reply button to get the smilie box.

I use Firefox and have never had that problem. Maybe someone else will have a different suggestion.

Thanks :)

I installed Firefox and it made no difference at all - except it kept interfering with flash videos and trying to sell me things so I uninstalled it again.

I'll ask Boldy about this tomorrow.

Just a fyi with the names linking...there are a few exceptions where the names will not link.

1.) A single babe name

2.) There is more than 1 babe with that name or A.K.A

Oo Petra! We just cross-posted

I'll have a look for the consecutive link/non-link names in my posts as examples of the same name sometimes linking and sometimes not and come back.

I've just discovered that there are two "Alexis Love"s - so that is explained - Thanks!

:) Yea, computers really aren't all that smart if they can't tell the difference between two hot chicks, eh?

Did your smilies ever come back?

No :(

I'm hoping there's a switch in the forum software but I can't find it.

I've just noticed that clicking "smilies are on" gives me what's missing from my screen so that problem has gone away :)

Stating the obvious here but: If the problems still persist, due to the IE upgrade, maybe revert back to IE7 ???

First - I'm not sure the browser upgrade was the cause - it might just have been coincidental and second - I've found another route to the smilie codes - so I'll just keep my head down in case I upset it again :crash:

Thanks for the contributions everyone - all fixed!
