Marla from fight club??
you knocking PJ Harvey, brosef? That's an extremely flattering picture of her.
you knocking PJ Harvey, brosef?
Not really.I've been a fan of her music for quite some time now, though I didn't like Let England Shake at all,and I was a little Luke warm about White Chalk.
That being said, she isn't ugly, but she sure isn't winning any beauty pageants either.
She might not win any typical beauty pageants, but as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people think beauty is having long legs, a perfect tan and bright smile. Some people think beauty is being able to write music that makes people change the way they think or view the world around them.
PS: LES is an awesome record
Yeah, they're definitely different, but it's not like she dumbed it down or gave in to pressure from the industry to change sounds by any means. Some of the songwriting on LES is absolutely brilliant, and the album makes a political statement without picking sides or putting anyone down. It's about how horrible war is on anyone involved, an avenue that alot of artists have gone down, but her approach seems different. At least it does from my perspective, as I'm used to Slayer singing about bullets shredding spinal chords and corpses rotting through the night. I'd have to say "Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea" is still my favorite though. As for her beauty... she seems like the kind of woman you'd want to get to know and love. Not like the "beauties" that you'd just want to get to fuck, if you know what I mean. It sounds kinda shallow (and maybe it is), but some chicks just make the instinctual part of you want to have sex. I think real beauty is what makes you want to share everything with a person because they are deep, intelligent, and even a little mysterious.I agree about beauty, but Let England Shake, well,it's just not PJ Harvey to me.Songs By The City,Songs By The Sea,and Uh Huh Her were two awesome albums, but White Chalk and Let England Shake are so much of a departure from her sound on those previous two albums that I just can't get into either of them.
Shanna McCullough looks like Dana Delany
