I voted erotic, but I am a big fan of both, but I feel that they have different roles to fulfill. For example, my computer wallpaper rotation is primarily full of photographs that would classify as erotic. I have purchased prints and decorated my home office with fine art (some of which is erotica). It is beautiful, classy, and perfectly acceptable in many social circles.
Hardcore is something else. Although I find hardcore aesthetically pleasing, educational, and entertaining, most people watch it for pure sexual excitement. For most, hardcore fulfills a role in the bedroom, whether it be to spice up the sex life, or to aid the imagination for the solo act.
If you're asking what you should focus on, maybe do a bit more sexy erotica. But certainly don't rule out hardcore! It's always great to watch, and I imagine the shoots are usually more enjoyable.
