ClickonDetroit.com
Police are searching for a group of children who they say rolled a tire onto Interstate 75, killing a motorcyclist Sunday night. The children were seen rolling a tire down an embankment at I-75 and Six Mile Road, Local 4 reported. A motorcyclist, Kamal Hussein, 20, of Farmington Hills, who was traveling with several others, hit the tire and lost control, according to the report.

Hussein was transported to Henry Ford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Michigan State Police in Detroit.

The accident investigation closed the freeway for several hours.

Anyone with information should contact police.

As a biker, Detroiter, Black/PR man (the demographic of that neighborhood where this happened-I grew up about 2 miles from there,my grandmother used to live a 1/2 mile from there) this really pisses me off, and embarasses me because it sheds such a negative light and actually hurts my feelings that someone raised thier kids to be so callous and uncaring as to do some bullshit like this. I love my city, I fucking hate the people here though. Can't wait to move...
This is one of the reasons that I no longer ride in Detroit. Crap like this has happened before, along with other incidents. Profiling, discrimination, etc, etc. I am so ******* angry right now.
Fuck.

Sad, but down here in Arizona there are tire pieces left everywhere on the interstate. The extreme heat pops tires like there's no tomorrow. Just driving along highway, you'll see dozens of pieces of shredded tires. Haven't seen a complete tire on the roads, but those are usually thrown more in the desert around the indians land.

How many dumb ass kids roll tires out into the freeway though?
Anyway, I'm moving out there eventually. I love riding there, especially shooting up to Vegas for a few hours and hanging out.

i hate to tell u but this type of incident is not unique to detroit. several years ago, a driver was killed outside of chicago by kids who dropped a piece of concrete off an overpass. unfortunately, u live in or near a large, major metropolitan area and the truth is, big cities equals poverty and crime. unless you're planning on moving to mayberry, you're going to see senseless acts of violence, and even then, the grass isn't necessarily greener...instead of the kids throwing a tire onto a road, they'll walk into a classroom armed to the teeth...

detroit is getting better, especially considering the depths to which it had sunk in the 80's and early 90's...and one last thought: if all the good, conscientious people run from the cities, who does that leave? a better idea might be to do something to help solve the problem rather than leave it up to someone else...donate a couple hours a month to a big brother/big sister program perhaps...

i'm not trying to be your conscience, just offering food for thought...

I remember at story a few years ago in Germany: Kids from the US military base were dropped cement blocks onto cars from bridges on the autobahn. Eventually, they killed someone.

A few years ago a Canadian Father and Son were in the US when some teens threw a large stone off of an overpass and it stuck there car and killed the father and paralyzed the teen...no charges we laid.... ...underage

I feel you, I really do,and back in the 80's and 90's, I was one of those bad elements. I know that every major city has its share of problems, and the D gets a bad rap for a lot of crap that happens everywhere, I am tired of hearing/seeing it though. I guess I read that article on the wrong day, because it hit a nerve. Hard.

Anyone else remember the episode of Beavis and Butthead where they roll down the hill in a tire?

I hope the children realize the gravity of their situation and understand that they actually took someone else's life. Sometimes it seems that in situations such as this the children are shielded from their own mistakes.

That sucks major ass... those little kids should be found and shot in the face....... R.I.P to the fallen rider
