They quit before the person is even having the chance to prove anything about her being the right or wrong choice.

And 5 out of six is quite a percentage.

I made a little news search about that new mayor - she obviously did nothing mentionable besides beating the old mayor who served for over three decades by a small amount of votes.

I say: Those people are possibly not mainly racist, but they are not serving their city like they were sworn in.

Well in other news...Mark Saunders became the first Black Chief of the Toronto Police Service in Canada and there is already criticisms particularly from the Black community on how he will handle such issues like racial profiling and the like.

They quited only a week after she was elected. They did not even gave her a chance, a try. They did not even wait to see what kind of policies she's gonna implement. And none of them could say what they meant when they mentioned "safety concerns".

So YES, it seems to be racism. Probably combined with sexism.
These guys do not like to orders from a woman.
These guys do not ike to take order from a black person.
And they just can't bear taking orders from a black woman.

Resigning is democracy. If you don't believe in your boss program you better resign. The mayor is new, but she must have had an electoral program and if those people disagree with it, honor to them for resigning rather than remaining in office to earn money for hindering the mayor's job on every day basis. Furthermore the mayor can now appoint people closer to her and show the world that she can deliver. If i was a racist i would probably stay in office to hinder the black mayor rather than resigning and giving up my privileges. But of course you are not allowed to dislike someone and their ideals if that someone happens to be black. Black people must be liked regardless. Surely, if the mayor was a republican or a guns supporter, those people resignation would have been praised and supported.

Besides resigning for safety concerns there's hardly any information to even assume anything. Racism, lack of belief in the mayor's electoral program, corruption... it could be anything and I'm going to refrain from any wild guesses. If it's one of these options we'll know soon enough.

If she is a reformer and the city government has been corrupt they probably quit for legal reasons. "started her first day, the officers' resignation letters could not be found, and that computers had been wiped clean". They probably think without them city comes to a halt, she gets frustrated, resigns and they are back to business as usual.

That's nonsense. I'm sure if she was a republican or a gun supporter those ppl wouldn't have resigned they would be working with her instead.

Shatekia Thatch, 34, gets emotional as she talks about the incident several weeks ago where a Parma police officer tased her son, Christopher Ward, 17, on April 20, 2015, in Parma, Mo., after Ward reportedly made a crank call on the public phone seen across the street on the corner at right.

Tased for making a crank call?

PERKS AT CITY HALL

When Byrd showed up for work at City Hall, she was unable to locate financial statements, the book of ordinances, budget, meeting minutes or any other city documents.

“There’s nothing,” Byrd said.

As it turns out, Kim Hampton, who has been city treasurer for 24 years and runs the Mahan Gin, keeps many Parma financial documents in a 14-by-14-foot fireproof safe at the cotton gin.

“I do all of my job here,” said Hampton, who did not resign.

Asked how the city could fulfill public records requests when the documents weren’t at City Hall, Hampton said, “They (the residents) all know where I’m at.”

Newly elected Parma Mayor Tyus Byrd shows the city credit cards that were cut up (even though they were still current) after she became the mayor on April 20, 2015. She asked for the credit cards from the city treasurer.

Byrd said she eventually obtained some account statements. A few of those statements showed that city employees routinely used city credit to purchase personal items, and then paid the city back by having money withheld from their paychecks over a period of months.

Ramsey said he allowed the practice because the city did not offer employees benefits, and the wages were low.

“In my mind, I considered it a benefit of the job, like having a credit union,” Ramsey said.

Sounds illegal. A full investigation is needed.

I hope she does, too. And I hope she finds the voter fraud alleged in the article to be sufficient reason to file charges on the mayor-elect. Otherwise she has no goddamned business poking her nose in there. Just like her predecessor had no business in Ferguson or Sanford, FL.
